NBA 2025/2026

And I think if anyone offered first round picks and a future star for Bridges, you’d take it. But I think there’s still some reluctance to invest in Bridges.

I don’t think it’s about fast tracking their development as much as just bringing in experienced pros to make the team competitive enough, rather than trying to rely on the luck of the lottery balls?

LeBron is going to kill him

I’m not sure how that fits. I haven’t seen much of Ayton since his Phoenix days. I think he’s regressed defensively. He’s not a floor spacer, but can hit the mid range okay. He’ll definitely help us with rebounding. In particular offensive rebounding. He’s definitely not the prototype centre that Luka has succeeded with on his teams. Having said all that, he’s better than Jaxson Hayes.
But we effectively turned a 32 year old DFS into Ayton and LaRavia for the same money. Which is not so bad. I think LaRavia is going to be better defensively than most people think of him.

The bugger in all this was we traded D’Lo + 2nd round picks for DFS and didn’t hold him. May as well have kept D’Lo, wait for his contract to expire and use the 2nd round picks on another trade.

I think LaRavia and DFS cover the full mid-level we had available. So, now it’s just a wait to see if there are any trades over the next week or so.

You’re trading Lebron right?

LOL. Nah. He’s a Laker. He won’t agree to go to lesser teams. And the better teams will need to be broken up just to match his salary.
Philadelphia could do it with a straight swap for Paul George.
New York could do it for KAT.
But the Lakers wouldn’t want the longer contracts for either.

I’m fine doing whatever we can this season, then going harder every pre-season as more teams try to sort out their salary cap issues.

The Lakers would be so much better if they didn’t have to worry about LeBron’s ego and having his kid waste a roster spot. He picks up the $52M option for next season, then complains about the roster. If he was so worried about it, then a) don’t re-sign and play somewhere else, or b) take a pay cut and give the organisation cap space to put better support around him and Luka. They’d just about be better off waiving him. Still would have to pay his salary but he would be gone and they can move on and build for the future.

You clearly haven’t watched Ayton’s career closely. Especially if you think he will help rebounding.

Buckle in Blummers. It’s gonna be a hell of a ride.

Ha ha. You clearly haven’t watched Lakers basketball.
We had Hayes and Alex Len as our centres going into the playoffs.
Hayes got beasted by Gobert and we barely played Len, but tried to playing Kleber even though he hadn’t played a minute with any of our regular starters (apart from his time at Dallas with Luka and DFS). That 27 point, 24 rebound with 9 offensive board game 5 was definitely something.

He’ll help from the very low base we have set.
I’m going to have to freshen up on his games though. I do have some Phoenix games from earlier this decade. I might have one from 23-24 season.

Doesn’t Ayton have a reputation for ruining team unity and relationships?

He was probably too lazy to do that.
He was involved in the trade that sent Dame to Milwaukee and ruined them.

All I heard about was late to planes, a bit aggro when he got subbed out of games and tardy at rehabbing. You’re typical twenty year old who got a max $30mil contract.

He was asked what his goals were after he got drafted. He said “sign another contract”. As in, get paid. He’s got his bag now and he’s going through the motions. He cracked the ■■■■■ when the Suns didn’t sign him to a max rookie extension. Basically downed tools on them (Indiana signed him to a FA deal, Phoenix matched the offer so he ended up staying initially) and then got dealt to the Blazers. Guys like him are a bad advertisement for modern NBA players. Similar mindset to Simmons, except he does actually play and is an NBA calibre starting player.

Perfect summary. Add to that he cracks it, chucks tantrums and sulks when he’s told not to stay up all night on the ps5!

Everyones seen lakers basketball its all we get with celtics

Some reports that Beal might get paid out.

Ayton will be a handy third option for you behind those two.

Only way it’s possible is if he accepts 90 mill or less as opposed to the 110 mill he’s owed.

Heat were in trade conversations for him but would prefer he is bought out. Lakers and Bucks also interested.

Definately has a reputation for ruining my multis

Jock has been waived by Houston and signed with Memphis.

Miami finally land someone decent and don’t give up much to do it.

Norman Powell to the Heat as part of a three team trade.

Collins to Clippers

Anderson and Love to Utah.

No idea what Utah are doing.
