I heard them talking about Lloyd’s kid yesterday. Said he goes alright. How far away is he?

Mediocre breeding. Just another example of our mediocrity.

Guessing he’s 5-7?

Who’s going to pay for them to move to Melbourne and play VFL seconds?

Little Lloyd played soccer not AFL this season. A little worrying.

He is the perfect height to play CHF for us atm, I’m concerned he is going to grow too much in the next 10 years.

I’m blaming Hirdy for that.

Brisbane have nominated Lachlan Johnson as a F/S rookie. Means he’s open slather in the ND though.

Not that I expect we’d nominate him.

i cant see us taking him then as a cat B. dissapointing.

leaves spots open for Simon and Hird if he wants it.

Tex Wanganeen apparently boarding at Xavier College in 2020 in Year 10. Supposedly a Port supporter though. Which club has best claims on him?

Gavin has said before that Tax is a Port supporter. Assume while boarding at Xavier his family will remain in Adelaide. You’d assume Port would have to be front runners to get Tex.

I think Tex changes his mind a bit.

He was an Essendon supporter at one stage.

So probably worth noting that we haven’t nominated any NGA.

Thats dissapointing for Simon. don’t see why we dont have a free hit given 2 cat B list spots open.

FFS. Seriously?

Are you surprised?

Yes. I know how naive that seems. But it is such a free hit. Picking kids builds knowledge and skills both in the kids we pick, the communities they come from, and in the club that wants to benefit from their talent.

I find it immensely frustrating and shortsighted to not fill this list.

Yeah, I agree it makes a lot of sense on a lot of levels. Plus I’d like us to be sending a message to the rest of Tiwi in particular that if you work hard this is a legitimate opportunity for you.

But oh well, another year goes by…

The thing that I wonder about is whether they really want an AFL career.

I have some examples for this.

Two of the Puruntatameri boys have up until this year preferred to play local Tiwi football over even NTFL even though they are perhaps too good for NTFL. I have heard that many talented players refuse to leave the Island - even for Darwin!

Adam Tippa has been on recruiters radars for years but he refuses to put on muscle or improve his tank. He is such a sublime kick and has kicked 3 of the best behinds in his last 2 Tiwi matches you will ever see, but he has had time address these things yet hasn’t.

And lastly, Tiwi has in its midst the best left footer in all of Australia. Dion Munkura is the best left foot kick of the footy you will ever see. He must be leading the Tiwi BandF by a country mile. How he reached his late 20’s without again addressing his body shape and then being listed by an AFL club I will never know. What I suspect is it has never been a priority for him.

Sadly, if Tiwi prospects aren’t desperate to play at the top level we may be in trouble.

I wouldn’t say that, most of the top line I’d Tiwi guys usually head south to play footy during the winter.
