It’s all about playing for position today and tomorrow, especially down the bottom for the draft order.
The leafs are currently 5th last overall, giving them the current (pre lottery) 5th pick. This is important because Boston has their first rounder this year, except it’s top 5 protected. So If the leafs get a point today against the Senators, they’ll lose that pick to Boston.
The Flames really need the rangers to get a point against the lightning so we can drop another spot. We’ve done far too much winning lately for a tanking team.
