NHL thread

Not sure where to post this…
But there is an amazing documentary about the Detroit v Colorado rivalry in the 90s.
Now that’s a Line in the Sand rivalry.
I’m not an NHL fan, but it’s one of the best documentaries I’ve seen in a while.

That fight between them at the Joe in 1997 is absolutely mental.

Caps will win it this year.

nah oilers

No we won’t.
We are the experts in underachieving and I’m just lucky I got to see a Cup in my lifetime.
You just know we will make playoffs again and go out in the first round

I feel it in my bones. This team has one more piece of magic left.
Minnesota look good imo.

I’m delusional.
Its time for the Canucks.
All aboard the Bruce B train.

I’m going to see my Islanders play the Devils in two weeks at UBS Arena

The Flames have started red hot.

It’s possible we are a better ‘team’ without Tkachuk and Johnny Hockey in it. Somehow.

Kadri has been fire so far.

I think we’re a legit chance this season, although the cup isn’t won in the first few weeks.

Gosh, this above post aged horribly. We’ve gone full essington.

And I don’t care if he’s the best player in the game, I really dislike Connor McDavid. Mainly because he keeps beating us.

The Battle of Alberta is a very cool rivalry, though.

Yeah, nah.
Canucks fan here. The Flames are my Fark Carlton.
Sorry Paul, but Calgary can go and get stuffed.
And yep, the Canucks are sucking this year- before you come at me- but at least we are not cowtown

And I work with Todd Simpson…
( he’s a good bloke apparently)

And the Canucks are like our North… You care more than we do.

Nah, that’s not true. Losing that shootout the other week stung.

I’d rather live in Vancouver, but I’d rather support the Flames.

Caps were terrible but in the last few weeks have turned it around and won 10 of our last 11 to get back in the mix for playoffs. A long way to go still

At least you have the Ovechkin goal chase to watch.

Two more good seasons still to catch him I think

I’d say more like Freo.
Geographically and spiritually.
Though the original Vancouver Millionaires do go back to 1911. They won the Cup in 1915 and are the predecessors to the Canucks.

The Arizona Coyotes are the leagues North.

I reckon they’re closer to the Suns. Eternally pushed by Bettman and co to be this sun state entity nobody can find any skerrick of relevance for with Quebec knocking on the door, just like Tassie. It all gets a bit muddled.

I more meant that the Flames / Canucks rivalry is like the Essendon / North rivalry. As in, one team is far more invested in it than the other.

The Ducks could be the league’s North.

I guess that makes us the saints; one cup, a long time ago, and if it wasn’t for one bounce of a ball / the puck was friggin in, we’d have two.

Plus, Huberdeau is a Brad Hill-like recruit so far.
