Official Ess v Demons Review

We dominated 85% of the game. Kick 3 of the 10-12 gettable misses and it's a very, very, very different game. All teams can kick goals when they've got 10 minutes to roll the dice and absolutely nothing to lose, we lost the game before half time.

Agree. But how many times can this happen before it is no longer an abberation but a pattern

What the Hell is going on?

Merda!

We are going be contending for that 6th to 12th position of a very long time. Jobe, Goddard and Stanton have 2-3 good years left in them and we obviously aren't going to be a top 4 threat in that time. When they retire, GC and GWS will be unstoppable and we'll be stuck in mediocrity.

We also need to remember that Hurley is one of the side's highest paid players. He signed a 5 year deal worth $3m didn't he?

ASADA won.

"Support the boys" campaign didn't go so well.........

Is hird back yet?

We needed to win games like today. A decade of mediocrity continues...

We also need to remember that Hurley is one of the side's highest paid players. He signed a 5 year deal worth $3m didn't he?

Why do we need to remember? the club paid what they thought he was worth, not you, not I.

Thanks IC

Right now I am angry. ANGRY. And its not just this loss. Its the culmination of whats happened at this football club for the past decade. Mediocrity after mediocrity. Does not matter which players you recruit. Does not matter which coach you recruit. The end result is the same. I am sick and tired. I am done. I spend hours watching, reading and supporting our team every ■■■■■■ week. I will always support them but the extra emotion and support I put in needs to be earnt back. Melbourne. Seriously. I bet some flogs on this forum will blame umpires or T-Bell. Does not matter. It is the players who do not put in the hard yards or can handle the pressure when the going gets tough. Been an issue all decade.

I feel your pain, you are not alone. I'm serious, I feel your pain because I'm thinking just the same way.

I know we're angry.

I know we could have played certain aspects of the game better.

I agree that our forward entries should be better, and our forward-line coaching is still lacking.

But the fact is that we lost because we didn't convert easy shots at goal.

We had plenty of opportunities.  Real opportunities, not boundary line hopes.

We lost because we had about ten opportunities to win the game, and we missed all of them.

It's not about Hocking's missed tackle.

It's not about that turnover from the half back line.

We had plenty of easy chances to seal the win, we missed them all.

I know that's tough to accept, but that's the reality.

We dominated 85% of the game. Kick 3 of the 10-12 gettable misses and it's a very, very, very different game. All teams can kick goals when they've got 10 minutes to roll the dice and absolutely nothing to lose, we lost the game before half time.

I'm not saying it hasn't happened before (typically in June, on a Sunday, against Melbourne, in front of a shithouse crowd).
just pointing out the game wasn't lost in the last minute, it shouldn't have got to that.
Left the door open again and again. Eventually they walked through it.

really disappointed in the result I hate losing by a point ............it isn't as though we didn't have the ball enough or had enough shots at goal if we'd kicked better earlier on they never would have thought they could still be in it. way to many points I know there is a lot going on and I am not going to bag anyone cause it is a team effort ........don't be too destructive in your need to lash out and express your disappointment though people

We also need to remember that Hurley is one of the side's highest paid players. He signed a 5 year deal worth $3m didn't he?

what the fark does that does have to do with anything?? fark me. ■■■■ off with your obsession with his contract. fark. now you made me angry. fark...yea i'll say it again. FARK

executing the most basic of skills let us down today. nothing more, nothing less.

Not upset, indifferent.

10+ years of merda has conditioned me for this day.

Of all teams, OF ALL FKN TEAMS we embarass ourselves against this 2 bob, pissant club AGAIN.

See 2011, see 2012 FKN GROUNDHOG DAY against this ■■■■■. Absolute fkn livid.

Hurley should have gone forward in the last quarter IMO, too stubborn bombre.

We've complained about the forwards for a long time but to me it's mainly the midfield.  No real pace or great kicks.  Every player in there is virtually identical.  We've got about 6 or so with below average pace and very average skills when under any sort of pressure.

Hurls efforts in the last were just awful.  Really needs to learn to kill contests.

Licha has been awful since the first few matches.

Melksham I had high hopes for.  I was wrong.

TBC since he's come into the side has been woeful.

Zaharakis was unbeleivable.  Ran hard both ways, he did everything.  Had a bit of pace.  If we had another player or two like him we'd be much better.

Got robbed by the umpires up forward. Missed a couple of easy ones. I think we've played worse and won games this year. At times the boys play some dumb footy, try to be too cute with the ball.

We also need to remember that Hurley is one of the side's highest paid players. He signed a 5 year deal worth $3m didn't he?

Fark I'm getting farking sick of this bullshit being spouted. Yes Hurley is on a large contract. This is the clubs valuation of his worth. Besides a few games this year he has been good to very good and there were a hell of a lot more downhill runners I would be sinking the boot into before him.
Get another whipping boy idiot
