Could we prior to the draft speak to say McGrath and tell him we’ll take him with Pick 1 in PSD? So he’d stay out out ND and only nominate for PSD.

No, because part of the eligibility criteria for the NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft is that a player must have been eligible for, but not selected at, the NAB AFL Draft. The only exception is a player who has been delisted from the Primary List by an AFL Club, who can stipulate if their nomination form is to be held over for the Pre-Season Draft.

I’d take him for sure. Can probably have him as a delisted free agent. safe to say pick 1 in the preseason will now be wasted. May as well scrap the pre-season draft entirely.
