deadpool is rated highly by comic book nerds and literally no one else
…or it is, and alternately, is not as bad as some think it is.
Team America is still very very very funny.
Closeted gay men who have a huge thing for Ryan Reynolds is also a key demographic
Fk yeah!
Haha, perfect.
Midnight in Paris
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Liked both, but was led to believe they were both going to be their respective directors’ masterpieces and they just weren’t.
Absolutely not. Its a genre defining movie who’s influence can be seen on science fiction movies almost 40 years later.
I saw it first the first time about 5ish years ago after hearing so many good things about it. The special effects etc for back then were top notch. Just didn’t grip me at all. But a few people have told me they ending i saw wasn’t the good one.
I saw the new one which was interesting…once Harrison ford showed up it really picked up(Ryan Gosling might be one of the most overrated actors of all time). Also had one of the most gorgeous actresses i have seen for a long time
I loved Inside Llewyn Davis. Best thing the Coens did last decade. If anything it’s underrated and should have at least received a nomination for best picture & best lead for Oscar Isaac.
Blade Runner is one of my top movies of all time; I think the best version is the Final Cut, but the original cinema release, complete with voice over and utterly inconsistent ending, wasn’t bad at all.
I thought Blade Runner 2049 was a load of derivative craap.
The Big Chill
St Elmo’s Fire
Anchorman and the subsequent crap afterwatds
I loved Midnight in Paris.
I reckon most Wes Anderson, and all Jim Jarmusch, movies are as boring as batshit.
Old School.
Pretty much anything Will Ferrell has been in other than Zoolander and perhaps Night at the Roxbury.
Stepbrothers?
No Country for Old Men, Goodfellas, the Godfather, Midnight in Paris, Lost in Translation.
There are better movies in here than the movie thread.
Midnight in Paris is enjoyable, I’ve watched it a few times, it just seemed to be really hyped up at the time. Possibly cos people were waiting years for Allen to get some form back.
Rushmore is definitely my stand out for Anderson.
I’m a big fan of many Jarmusch films, mostly his mid to late 80s stuff.
Titanic was incredibly over-rated. The hype around it when it came out was ridiculous.
Cloverfield also over-rated. Good PR by Abrams for an average film.
Down by law is a ripping film for mine. Quite liked mystery train and night on earth too.
