It didn’t age well. Was scary as hell when I was a kid. The only movie my folks banned me from watching. Of course that meant I snuck a watch as soon as they left me home alone.
It reminds me of a movie The Tree Of Life, the critics all raved about (That should have been my first warning) Terrence Malick directed (should have been another re flag)/
Absolute self indulgent arthouse w***k.
3 hours of Sean Penn meandering around looking perplexed, and then out of nowhere, a frikkin dinosaur scene.
It was bad enough at the cinema, but then I had to endure it on an Fiji Airways flight, with that being the fixed movie “entertainment” on the flight. At least I could walk out of the cinema.
Was Ridley Scott’s Prometheus highly rated? It was on TV last night. Alien is just about my all-time favourite movie, but I reckon Prometheus is pretty bad. I saw it at the cinema when it was released and didn’t like it then; got through about an hour of it last night before switching off. It’s got a few nice visual effects and some good scenery, but it completely lacks the atmosphere that made Alien so great. Alien Covenant is even worse, in my opinion.
Also, can someone make an underrated/obscure/forgotten movies thread? I don’t know how.
