Paul Turk (right) has left Essendon to pursue a new role with AFL Queensland
ESSENDON’S fitness department is in for a revamp one week into the season following the departure of strength and conditioning manager Paul Turk.
Turk will this week leave the Bombers after eight years.
BOMBING OUT Dons cop a hiding from Giants
He was North Melbourne’s strength and conditioning coach for six seasons before joining Essendon.
Turk has accepted a job with AFL Queensland and will be based on the Gold Coast.
Essendon’s general manager of football, Dan Richardson, said the Bombers would use current staff to replace the roles played by Turk.
“Paul is Essendon through and through and he’s made a difficult decision to leave,” Richardson said.
“He told us six weeks ago. He’s had aspirations to live on the Gold Coast and we wish him nothing but the best.”
This is our Mark Neeld moment, only in round 1.

i should have said manager more than coach.
Turk is in charge of drills and fitness regime where as Crow deals with the mechanics, injury rehab, planning etc…

Hehe, so Turk’s the manager? Just tell me who to blame please.
I must say I think there might be real concerns that crow is so focused now on conservative injury management and prevention that we have backed off our training loads too much. I say this without any actual relevant knowledge or expertise mind you.
