Pell and other allegations

Count me as one of the 90% who have lapsed, in my case about 60 years ago.

Fark Pell.

According to the ABC, the standard of the National Redress Scheme is ‘reasonably likely’.

Fair enough, that was the exact wording. I heard some other reporting that indicated this was ‘akin to the civil standard’ which was the wording I used.

Perhaps the most disturbing (but unsurprising) aspect of this is that one of the cases was decided several weeks before Pell passed and the Ballarat Diocese informed. The hero-worship went ahead at his funeral with members of that Diocese fully aware of what had been decided.

His media and political enablers will never give him up. If evidence were needed have a look at the Bolt column in today’s HS (not recommeded!)

Gerald Risdale’s condition has been updated to satisfactory (dead).

Good riddance.

Straight to hell for him.

More like excellent in my view

Excellent would have been if he’d never been born. Dead - belatedly, and long after many of his victims - is just what we’re going to have to settle for.

Good riddance. I hope Satan meets him at the gates of hell with a grin on his face and a giant strap-on covered in broken glass and dripping in herpes.

He can assume the position on his hands and knees (on a floor covered in loose lego pieces) right next to Pell.

Hell might be too good for him.

There’ll be celebrations at Mortlake and the Southern Grampians.

Lady at the coffee shop says her husband went to Monivae in Hamilton and didn’t twig what was happening until after he left school.

I’d also like those that enabled him to be met with the same outcome.

Front page of the Oz, and I’m seeing it all over right wing Christianist twitter. Make no mistake, this is a movement towards beatification of the guy, which is the first step towards sainthood. Will it happen? Um, hell no, unless we get a Trumplike figure in the papacy. But the support this guy gets after all the evidence of his behaviour, still boggles my mind.

Human stupidity knows no limits. I spoke to the mystical faries and asked a pedo to cure my kid, and he did!!

They didn’t have enough room on the page for the original headline of “US toddler’s miraculous survival after prayers to notorious convicted peodophile abuser and enabler Pell”.

Saw this thread bumped and figured I’d pass on my very real and cynical views of the Catholic Church and why I’ll never set foot inside again

My mums side of the family were strict Catholics and my younger brother and I were dragged along to Sunday mass every week
From an early age I couldn’t figure out why the people we were shaking hands and wishing “peace be with you” ignored each other outside the church

Way back in the early 80’s my mum was diagnosed with cancer and back the the only treatment was to cut out the affected organ

While she was in hospital I asked my dad (who was a Mason) if my brother and I still had to go to Sunday mass, as I thought the fellow parishioners were a little hypocritical
We was OK with us not attending as I was old enough to make my own decisions

After spending many years in Lewisham hospital she passed away May 1984
At her funeral in the northwestern suburbs of Sydney, Father Burton came up to my brother & I who were sitting in the front row and had a none to sympathetic shot at me for not attending mass while mum was sick. Luckily my dad didn’t hear what he said but mums extended family and her friends did and they were disgusted in the priest. I was in a state of shock but it made me real angry as time wore on and 40 years on still makes me ■■■■■■ off at the Catholic Church
