Point Lonsdale lighthouse.
Do it! Seeing the frame unfold on a waist level viewfinder is magic.
I used to shoot a lot of street and the x100 and xpro were great for that but the ground glass on the RB is just magic and brings a whole different set of considerations to image making.
Canon release Eos R6 MK ii this morning .My canon Eos 6D MKii is in getting the water pumped out of it . 3232bomber says "I should upgrade and sell all the EF gear " … “buy yourself a Xmas present” were her words.
The R6 Mkii is a good reminder to me why I should stop contemplating changing systems, lol. $4500 body only, then all the glass I’d need…
My existing gear is far more capable than I am. No doubt I’d be better off paying for a few courses.
Everyone says that till they take the plunge!
Then it’s ‘why didn’t I do this earlier?’
Well the Eos 6D MKii might not be fixable . I didn’t have it insured .as well I’m up to 100k of shots { grandsons footy last 2 years has taken up 20k} so that was 1 of the things I thought about on an upgrade.
I wonder now with electronic shutters if you will still be able to get a count like that on the camera?
I load photos thru Canon software and loads photos in numerical order ,Electronic shutter would work the same way without the movement of the shutter
But then, how would you know if buying second hand for example how much work the shutter has done?
If it’s done that way too we need to trust you to be honest. Doesn’t the Canon have an onboard counter?
You have to download the software I haven’t bothered. The repair guy at Canon said he would do it on the repair sheet when the quote of its cost to repair turns up.
Sweet. Doesn’t matter what you shoot these days.
Sony, Nikon, Canon, Fuji, Pana, Pentax
All good. Spoilt for choice.
Oh yeah, sorry, I wasn’t having a crack at the idea of anyone upgrading. Just that it’d cost me a lot of money. A Nikon Z5 and a couple of small primes might be doable at some stage. I’m actually wondering when/if we see a budget-end Canon R in FF. The R and RF are long in the tooth and not terribly good options these days. The R5 and R6 are expensive beasties.
Checks and sees 20+ new posts in the “Photos you’ve taken” thread…great says I…surely there will be some ripper new pics to look at and admire…
…but no…it’s all nerd talk (sorry guys).
Get back to posting your great pics please.
I didn’t think you were having a crack ,i was concerned how far behind I was getting with technology .I only use 3 lenses 50mm1.8 ,17 40mm 4.0, 70 200mm 4.0, cost just as much as the camera to upgrade everything.$$$$$
I’m also back in Japan in February so been spending a lot of time on this site.
I’ve never bought from them from Australia but buy from them when i’m there.
If you can figure it out, the second hand section is great fun to check out.
Just for you
Ms Soulnet photo, from inside the car!
I was naughty and drove across to get her more centred
I tried something different on this one, using a multishot mode to create the movement in the foreground water. It looks quite painterly at a decent size.
Awww focus bracketing is one feature I would love the Sonys to have. Only the new a7RV does and that’s 6k.
Thanks guys…two great pics
