I’m heading over in Jan. Thanks for the tip.

But my photos suck, and arguably should be in the other thread.

Just be aware most things in Japan don’t have a worldwide warranty or odd things like the same product with same model number may have a 5 year warranty for the USA but only a 2 year warranty for Australia.

Love how you can see the passengers.

Can see the pilot and his aviator raybans.

Though not the sharpest image in the world, same plane but at night. ISO here at 51200. 1/250.

I haven’t posted any images in here before so here’s a few from various times.

Where was this taken? Mexico?

Puente La Reina in Spain - just outside of Pamplona.

Reminds me of these I took a few years ago in Mexico (Burning of the Bull festival, Santa Elena) … blurry as hell, but tricky situation with no time to prepare …

Yeah, same sort of situation - lots of fun to shoot in that quick responsive way hey.
I remember being too busy trying to get into a good position to notice the slight burning on my leg!

Ha, yep. We were up on the Church steps with rockets landing all around us. Grass fires springing up. Big adrenaline rush. Don’t look up! Absolutely mad.

New Mavic, Fuji XT5, Canon R5ii, Sony A7RV.

Spoilt.

I know I said yesterday that I prefer the Xpro line, but that X-T5 does look like a very good device for photography. Interesting that it looks like they won’t make a battery grip for it though. I wonder if we’ll ever see an X-pro 4, or if they’ll settle on three product lines - X-t , X-H, X-s - with the X-t (and X100) the “retro” product.

Quite a heavy crop, it’s sharper than i expected.

So, that pic above was taken with an Olympus 300/4 lens. It gives an equivalent field of view to 600mm on a full frame system. I only borrowed one, because at $4,000 I just can’t justify the price.

Yesterday, Nikon released the new 600/4 Z mount lens. Yours for the paltry sum of $26,000 !!! The natural home for this lens is the Z9 body, which adds another $9,000 or so… Lol, this is not a cheap hobby if you’re pushing hard for 10/10ths usage!!

Suddenly, the 300/4 looks a little less outlandish! I still can’t afford it though. Mind you, Olympus can also drain your wallet if you insist. The 150-400/4.5 is up around $12k.

Anyway, here’s a pic from this morning of some grazing paddocks in the Yarra Valley. Just in front of those trees, you can see the top of a gate just breaking the water surface…
