Players by numbers

Standing bored at work at 3am in the morning I started wondering to myself who, over the time I have supported the Bombers, which is 35 years this year, are the best players that I have seen play, in each different jumper number. It was a little more difficult than I thought. There will be others who disagree with some of my selections and I tried as much as possible not to let my emotions over rule me. There are some numbers that I couldn’t place players in. So here it is.

7 Solly?

You would have TD ahead of Hird?

That is brave.

Not really that brave a call, TD was pretty special too.

#4 Jobe

No Long? Harsh

17- Robert Stevenson

37 Kyle H Reimers

#4 Jobe

Tough competition from Baker and Wanganeen.

and McAlister

I wonder where history will judge Winders. IMHO at his best he's as good as Bewick. Less goal-kick-ey, but a hell of a lot more team oriented, better field disposal.

I spose like all things Winders, "if he'd missed about a hundred less games" will decide it.

No Long? Harsh

A lot of great footballers missed out.

#17 Judd Lalich

Our last three Brownlow medalists missed out?

I am just that little bit older, so Jack Clarke, John Birt, Ken Fraser and Hugh MItchell would push their way in.

And Hird vs TD; tough call !!!!

Wasn't Kieran Sporn #17?

True, but I would rate Hird ahead because he's won a Brownlow and has 5 B&F vs TD's 4... plus he's coached the Bombers!

Number 7 should be Bill Hutchison... that's a pretty obvious oversight.

Can argue that Zaka may eventually eclipse Hardwick at Number 11.

I would put Longy at Number 13 instead, he was more magical.

Not sure which of Sommerville or Hille is better at Number 19... I'd be inclined towards Hille based on number of goals kicked.

Ben Howlett for Number 40 and Baguley for Number 46.

Number 7 should be Bill Hutchison... that's a pretty obvious oversight.

Bill Hutchinson was a bit before my time.
