You couldn’t be further from the truth.
I noted Nate Caddy spoke highly of ADW. Reckons his running power and skills mean he has a positive future.
Well, even so.
Saw a clip of training on ch9. I swear I saw Zach Merret suited up to train in the background.
Hedging his bets ?
Tell Bruce to tell Nic to go inside if it rains.
Probably just using up the last of his Hangar privileges before his swipe card stops working.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t leave.
And make him a lifetime free agent, clever.
Obviously the kid has a lot of work to do. He’s currently working on it, dropping him to the rookie list doesn’t really achieve anything.
See how the year pans out.
For me I totally agree. Yes he’s chunky but as long as he improves on last season I’m happy. He’s probably the most natural forward we’ve had since tippa and with our new coaches he will be challenged to improve and I believe he will.

Post Season Training - Borderline Flying
Savage but great comparison I have to say ![]()
concerned we have a lack of leadership on track for these youngsters to follow.
For this reason we get Viney, improve intensity at training, improve the depth of our midfield and he becomes a good onfield leader/ coach .
I would also bring in one of Sydney’s veterans to help with game style, onfield leadership: Jake Lloyd or Dane Rampe.
Rampe just played in a prelim final…and was captain in Mills’ absence.
He won’t be leaving Sydney.
That photo of huss is laughable. Clearly does not take his career seriously.
Full time professional footballer and has a pot belly 12 months in. Classic.
At least he is doing something about it now. I can’t imagine the coaches and the fitness team letting it slide. I’m prepared to give him last season as he came to the club in nowhere near the shape of an elite athlete, but what he does from now on will define his career. Talent is clearly there.
He is not an AFL standard player would not get a look in on any other list why we have fallen for these NGA players is more of the Essendon Amateur hour ,like getting a free kids toy at Maccas with every Happy meal, actually it looks like its were he has been training.
From a fitness point of view, it is clear he is not AFL standard at the moment. He has shown that he can play at the top level however this year. No doubt it is a very important offseason for him to see if he can trim down and start to develop the body of an AFL footballer. Remember, Tippa was extremely unfit in his early years and was able to turn it around. This kid is only 19 - give him some time before writing him off.
I think he does take it seriously but I think culturally he would probably still be eating family meals full of high carbs and high fat eg rice, curries etc.
I’m not sure if he still lives at home, if he does, it would be time to live and learn off someone with the most professional habits at the club.
I’m optimistic he can get to the right level but you are correct, if a player turned up to that at local senior footy level I’d be telling them you won’t be playing seniors until you are fit enough.
From where he was at the start of the year, I thought he looked like he’d trimmed down a fair bit.
That’s just using my non calibrated eyes though, so could be wrong.
Geez given the volume of tackles and pressure he was applying in the last block of regular season games, he has clearly been working on his fitness during the year.
Yes, there is a lot more he needs to do but he also appears to be working on that.
Will he make it? No idea but I’m not going to be an out of shape middle aged guy throwing stones from inside the glasshouse, especially at the one guy who appears to be able to be front at centre at a pack.
