It may come as a shock to you, but I generally don’t have the same opinion as most on Blitz. Been here since 2007 and was on BomberTalk before that.
Probably covered in here somewhere , but what’s up with Hobbs?
Edit: never mind , found it in the Hobbs thread of all places
I think we all agree with you that we should clone Hird.
I don’t know what’s taking the club so long, Dolly the sheep was cloned back in 2003. We should have a clone of Hirdy by now!
And my question would be, why stop at one?
- We lose, we’re crap
- We win, they didn’t try

Dolly lived for 6.5 years. So if we could clone James as of the year 2000, it would give us his best years too.
The Cats are on the downslide. But the GFC needs to sell tickets, so they keep saying dont write them off. They might beat us today but in 2024 they will not play finals.
Wayyyy to top heavy
Clone the 2000 team

I reckon will will do better than 13-14 wins. The ALFW team is pretty good and the VFL team played well towards the end of the year. I think we will get a total of 16-17 wins.
I think the VFLW team will fall short of 13-14 wins. But reaching the prelim is our three-year baseline.

To all the pessimists on this site. I predict 13-14 wins this season
Can you please share that crack?

I agree, I actually think this is one of the reasons we’re constantly mid table too. Prioritizing youth might have anchored us at the bottom for longer at certain periods which would have afforded us better picks and a few more of them.
And I think kids can develop well from being shown that trust to take a spot some weeks from a senior member if the promise of form is being shown in the VFL or training down the house.
Didnt the last time draper played vfl he did an acl.
Weid has 3 goals in VFL so far
If this practice match ends up being another lifeless display after last week, the club might want to rethink having players and staff calling up members on Monday. It could be brutal.
…against Geelong.
Why would you put this out into the world
It would be nice to go into a game with a level of assurance that the team will be competitive. Not asking for great, just an honest account of themselves. I could actually enjoy that.
They’re up against an outfit we don’t matchup well against at all. On paper you wouldn’t expect a win on their ground. However, a much more committed and organised performance the minimum expectation.
Yeah fair call. I have zero confidence we will be remotely competitive.
