Much better game tonight

There will be debates i am sure on us stopping around 20min into the 3rd and Geelong then well on top. Whether it’s right or wrong…i felt as a team we started to focus on round one at that point. Langford, Redman, Wright and Ridley(injured) comes off and Bryan does full time ruck with Goldy resting full forward. So our structure was immediately lost.

For me i will focus on when the structure was set and we were taking the game on for the first 2/3 of the game. We more than matched the Cats at their home base. So i am more happy than upset trust me. Significant step up from last week.

It was the experienced players that mostly lead the way with Parish quite dominant. Merrett, Langford, Martin, Durham, Gresham, McGrath and Goldy all very good. Goldy is making a huge difference to our stoppages and i thought he was incredibly influential.

Of the younger players i thought Reid was showing some great signs. Just so much talent. He simply just needs games into him from here on and will only get stronger. There are some fringe players that are a bit out of sorts… Perkins, Menzie, Cox, Guelfi, Tsatas and Jones (though better today) all not overly claiming a round 1 spot as i reckon Scott would have hoped. Perkins did not look himself at all today.

Hind had a decent last Qtr when he came on. 10 disposals, 1 goal, 300m gained, 4 score involvements and 4 inside 50s. Maybe he gets the call up as I sense he has the better form.

Though Duursma made some
mistakes that i think with more game time(post last tear injuries) he will improve in that area. What i really like is his appetite to get the hard ball, tackle and his willingness to help our defenders.

Overall a much improved system and effort that the players can build off. Now the real stuff begins…

Forget about it. Get use to it Annie

Is Small forwards really our biggest problem. Our lead goal kicker was Langford who isnt really a tall. The rest were all smalls. We need a quality tall.

The real stuff began when Guelfi did that ■■■■ point blank. Ya momma, my nan, our ■■■■■■■ cousins coulda scored that goal.
This season is a deadset wank. Anzac day is gonna be another ■■■■■■■ laugh for them turds!

Finals tilt

Three of those blokes are top 10 picks.

■■■■ dodoro is an indictment on this club. Fraud of the highest order.

Im yet to see a highly successful club with a middle of the road, average list.

Looking at collingwood i’m not sure they’ve had real stability over the last 7 or 8 years?

racism scandals, footy ops and salary cap disasters, coaching changes and board challenges….and also multiple finals wins, grand finals and a flag.

i’m not saying off field isn’t important, of course it is.

but there is no chance without a great list.

absolutely none.

A second year player almost had more contested marks than our entire team. We have gone backwards in our marking contests.

Highly rated Reid out there. First time watching him since playing the Tigers under Rutten where he was trialed as a forward. Just looked so composed down back and highly talented ball user for a big guy. Liked that he had stints on Hawkins and won some of those one on ones. Love the McKay Reid duo and hope the can be our defensive pillars injury free for the next 5 years

Could Archie Robert’s play the Guelfi’s role?
Robert’s is lightning quick, had great skills, can mark and could provide great defensive pressure.

By the end of the year, Robert’s will be in and out of the 22.

Agree with 99% of that, but If that was Tsatas out of sorts, he’s going to be unstoppable when he finds form…
Playing a different position (wing) to what he’d be used to as well…
