Would you take a win where we looked like we had a system and so did they?
The last time they were relevant in the league was 2000, so part of me is wondering whether for Essendon to rise, their natural enemy must rise from the swamp, allowing Essendon to crush them.
Saad receive a bit of niggle.
coxy display some athleticism
Heppell get leather poisioning in the backline.
Draper dismantling blues ruck division.
Caldwell get some nice touches, where you go wow, that why GWS wanted to keep him.
3-4 goals from 50m penaltys as a result of the new man on the mark rule. - hopefully media will petition the removal.
Tbh I donât care at all about " Carlton melts" in February. Iâve had 15 years of âCarlton are sht, and Essendon are a little less shtâ, and those 15 years have provided something approximating zero joy.
And yet Carlton have won more finals than us in the last 15 years. Including one against us. Iâd say weâve been â â â â and theyâve been a little less â â â â .
On average, I think their spoons - and the fact that their finals win was only possible due to us being kicked out of finals - make their shyness just a little bit more sht than ours over the period.
None have been maningful though. And this is what I will never get about the âwin a finalâ crp. First week finals mean nothing. If youâre not in the last 4 youâre nowhere. Win a final and finish 6th? Still crp.
I think they may have only won two actually now I think of it.
The one against us in 2011 under Ratten and the one vs Richmond were they played instead of us. Havenât looked thoroughly though. But yeah take your p.o.v.
To be honest though, having been only to finals losses Iâd take a meaningless finals win, even if just for momentary joy and belief lol.
Happy to build from the ground up now though and stay the course.
Theyâve been in the top 4, in our last 4 premiership seasons. (And we made a semi final during their last one.) We tend to follow each other around the ladder, so itâs very possible that we canât get good again, until they do.
The good news is, it also works vice versa. If we stay sh*t⌠So will they.
Yes, I think Hepp will reprise the BJ role off half back, maybe without the laser passes though.
Draper, yep he will be fantastic, but, remember he has only played 8 AFL games.
