I give credit to the Freo supporters for sitting through the same ac/dc song blaring through the speakers after every goal, in conjunction with the flashing, seizure inducing lights.

That’s why Essendon has largely been in limbo for 20 years. Everyone always gets conned into thinking (usually after we beat bottom 8 teams and remain competitive without winning against some top 8 teams) that we will make some miraculous surge up into contention if only we give them a little more time.
Unless the list can bring elite pressure that chokes the life out of the opposition and wins the ball back through the mid arc region consistently we’re stuck in no man’s land, same as always.

I’m disappointed but not dismayed. It’s always hard to win in Perth. Freo played very well. We’ve had an undersized backline for years and the lack of size was exposed tonight. We’ve lacked a CHF for years and we still do.
The most disappointing thing was that we were out-pressured apart from the first 10 minutes and a patch in the third.
There are plenty of individual players who could be criticised for tonight’s performance but that doesn’t mean they should all be delisted.
I’m going to see what happens next week before I get too upset. I’m not expecting us to win, but I do want to see us crack in twice as hard as we did tonight.

We missed Port by a kick, ran the pies to 3/4 time and missing our backline just got done by a rampant daniher in brisbane.

It’s no coincidence we get smashed in the clearances the week he comes back. Watch the four goals Freo kicked from centre clearances. Every single one was Parish’s direct opponent. Until this week we had generally been winning the stoppages. He is the one player we can afford to lose with Hobbs, Caldwell etc coming through.
That trade would get us the key defender we need

The totality of all 23 games will tell us where we are, not a bad loss, and certainly not your view of whether we should have lost some of those games.
I notice you didnt mention some of the earlier ones we could have won with an ounce of luck.
