It was quite the wake up call.
Our form line coming into this was pretty ordinary.
We fell over the line against Richmond, who were so sh*t their coach quit.
We let West Coast get closer to us than any other team in the last 6 weeks.
We beat North by a kick (and were probably lucky to win).
And we beat a rubbish Carlton by playing 10 mins of (sublime, no doubt) football.
Prior to that we’d lost 4 in a row against real teams.
Tonight probably gave us an indication of where we really sit. Which is still far better than expected at the start of the year.

its not a microcosm argument, it goes to our drafting strategy and list management. we do not have speed because dodoro appears afraid of it. we dont have the tools to be a serious side because that clown makes choice that have ramifications and seems immune to any consequence.

Axe time Brad we wont win next week any way time to make a statement that peformances like tonight are unexceptable
When the pressure comes at Essendon we become very predictable cause we move backwards, we run backwards and we dont give or find a forward option.
How many handballs gained meters today? How many to someone running past in a forward direction? Close to zero is my guess.

15 minutes? Games go for 100 minutes.
They scored 5.4 from centre clearances. That’s the game right there.

What do you base that on?

In what era? Not in 2023.
Because aside from tonight we hadn’t had a full 4qtr stinker
Games like tonight show you the list isnt there yet
We recruited Cox,Reid,Weideman and then that mid season drafteee for a reason.
None are working well for one reason or another (injury or form)

I get that.
But dropping him next week does r solve drafting issues. It just makes our team worse.

Utterly pathetic and insipid.
Started with poor selections and didn’t get any better.
Unfortunately Brad is hampered to some degree by inheriting a pretty ■■■■ list and is doing a remarkable job with what he has but this midfield ain’t winning a final anytime soon

But the Sweet vindication of the now!
Sooth us!!!
After the first 10 mins Freo lifted their pressure. Stopped us moving the ball easily. At the same time we dropped our pressure and allows them to switch and move the ball around more rather than forcing them to bomb down the line.
Weideman gets beaten by his own shadow.
Voss had a bad game (still got more involved than Weid). Offers a hell of a lot more without the ball too.

I thought winning 4 games was pretty good.

I like him, but i’d say we’re in monumental trouble if this is the case.
Providing Redman stays we still need a good running defender and a big bodied defender.
