That was their best game for the year and we still held up while playing one of our worst. Our best is easily finals football. We cannot forget all the injuries this season, they really disrupt the energy and consistency of the team.

Yep Heppell was really good. Had some vintage contested moments. A huge one in the last to tackle Wardlaw and stop him getting it inside fifty.

That’s not what happened against Collingwood at all. They ran us off our feet and pinged the ball by hand and foot like lasers.

I can see North winning two of their next three.
They played well, but we are their biggest rival so we’re always going to life. They were helped by our errors, laziness and horrid umpire decisions. I said in the match thread it seemed like the AFL directive was to make Brad pay for leaving the AFL……some of the decisions were diabolical.
We would have lost that over the last few years, so take the points and move onto next week.
I am genuinely concerned that Fark Carlton’s game plan of bomb it long to the big guys will finally work for them next week.

Had ice on his foot. Eddie Betts as TV boundary rider said the club had planned that Shiel only would play three quarters.
Maybe Betts got wrong info, maybe his foot it stuffed and they’re hiding it with a calf, maybe his foot is fine but now he has done a calf.
Whatever the true story is about Shiel in recent weeks, we haven’t been hearing it.
One or two players coming back will cover some cracks.
But our tackles were easily shrugged off by North Players. Our contested marking around the ground was appalling. our backline & forwardline we’re also smashed at the ground level contest…… and we couldn’t even break even at the centre clearance.
This is a list problem, not an injury problem.

A centre square combo of LDU, Wardlaw, Simpkin and Phillips will be seriously good in a few years. I hadn’t seen Wardlaw before today, but he has it.
