The last month, winning all of the tight affairs against similarly ranked teams has essentially guaranteed that this is exactly where things are headed. 11th to 13th is just about a lock now.
Still looks like Tarzan eh?
No idea if he still plays like Jane ….
You know he does
Having the Dees pick just softens that a little I reckon. We can still get some value for the young group by eking out a couple of wins here and there and still have access to some good end of year talent.
Going through the fixture I think on form there’s still only 3 or 4 games we go in with a good shot.
Around 12th spot and picks 5 & 7 sounds about the best (worst) we’ll end up.
My 9 year old son has flipped back and forth between the Bombers and the Swans for his entire life thanks to his Pop who was a south melb boy… yesterday he decided to don his ANZAC day Bombers poppy sash guernsey and we went and watched the game together (first Bombers Swans game we’ve seen live).
Was a great win for the club but an even better win for my boy. He’s now frothing over Caddy and Duz.
11/10 win. Thanks Bombers!
Last qtr stats don’t explain what happened
3 ACL injuries, two of them to blokes just starting their AFL journies is heartbreaking stuff.
And an Achilles too a ruckman putting in absolutely brilliant footy week in week out for the first time in his career.
Add all that up and all to key position talent.
I thought we were stretched before. We will be playing state leaguers in the afl soon and before the mid season draft some guys out of position to cover.
Dress it up however you like it’s not the sort of stuff which augurs well when trying to compete with the best sides.
Most of whom we haven’t played yet.
This comment is peak insanity. We debut kids, have a massively rebuilt team, suffering a number of long term injuries, and we are winning.
Holy hell, what else do you want???
If I remember correctly, similar criticism were made of Hawkins and, to a lesser extent Brown when they first started out. And they were bigger bodied than Caddy.
We are actually copping the dogs at a good time without Darcy and coming back from the outback played in tough conditions.
Then have tigers.
Then Lions should bring us back to reality.
but Lions are the premiers and there’s a good reason for it.
Yet we lose last year by a kick to Adelaide and the Gold Coast and it’s proof the club is going nowhere / still farked?
Most of the praise seems pretty measured by both supporters here and the club as well.
I’m pleased for once we stole a game we arguably didn’t deserve to win against Sydney instead of the other way around.
He was amazing 80% disposal efficiency, 745 metres gained. Really set up our attack and ball movement
I disagree about losing it late. We weren’t going to lose that game, not after such a dominant first half. The final margin was closer than l would have liked but we weren’t going to lose. In previous years we probably would have.
You have overlooked the Brownlow favourite tax of -3 weeks. No way the AFL would risk having a Brownlow favourite rubbed out for that action. But then again it is Essendon….
has it been confirmed he failed the concussion test?

fixed
I dont think they need to monitor him, trying to make it seem more serious so he doesnt get fined for staging. Afl need to come down hard on blakey for this, there is just no way an open hand clip could have that impact
