I loved that our players knew lav’s limitations so either they let him kick it ( while covering the guy he wanted to give it to)knowing he would turn it over or rushed him to pressure knowing he would turn it over
Really enjoyed seeing that

Club has said he is ok and should be right to train and play this week.
The GWS signed madden to a 4 year contract, while, briggs does not have a contract for 2027. That suggests how GWS rates the two players.
Draper was in your list and he didn’t have a contract with Essendon either in his last season. Briggs is an unrestricted free agent that hasn’t signed yet. Madden is a young star with 10 plus years left.
Clearly Madden is not ready to fill Briggs spot yet and last nights result for him suggests that.
Anyone got a link to the song? The broadcast switched to Bounce…not ideal.

When I read the phase ‘champagne footy’ this is the 1st thing that came to mind.
Can’t imagine a more satisfying outcome. Maybe the carnage in Mitchell’s box when he blows a head gasket.
Stringer kicks a goal and the whole game resets and it’s anyone’s guess what flows from there. Similarly, Caddy stays in and plays a blinder and we win by 5 goals. In reality, the better team won the game.
Winning the game is also vindication that you’re doing enough of the right things like Solly’s frontal pressure insistence and bellowing it from the boundary line/ losing means you’re not doing it right.
Winning is enormous.
I’d love to go to the footy with Mrs Fox. You can stay home.
Reward Parish’s 9 tackles in the VFL?
Briggs was a key reason why they beat Geelong and has been in tremendous form over the previous 5 games and a key reason they were performing well at stoppages. Wheelo shows over the last five games his player rating is 5th vs other ruckman.
Parish did nowhere near enough for a recall and barring injuries not sure he gets back in
I love how two days after a win we are still about football, instead of talking about Kiwifruit, or whatever other meanderings consumed last week.
Mrs Fox comes NSW, and was a very keen rugby league supporter of Canterbury and had never been to a real footy game until she came to live with me in 1988.
Didn’t really embrace the game until Matty Lloyd started playing, and I reckon then she would only come to the game because of his tight shorts which she seemed to follow more closely than the footy.
Then I introduced her to Lloydy at a Bomber function and she became a Member, learned our song, kitted herself out with a complete Bomber wardrobe and ignores me all game. I sometimes think I have created a monster.
If Briggs is uncontracted, I hope we are asking the question.
His physicality gives the GWS mids a chance to break even or win. Something missing for them vs us with Madden. And we have missed that ability without being able to throw 2MP in the ruck for the same affect this year imho.(to lesser effect)
Freo thrashed the giants in hit outs, but GWS won the clearances numbers convincingly looking at the stats on that game. Might we worth a watch I’m thinking of your into breaking down how they did that.
Does make you reflect on the HVH vs Midfielder debate going on in the draft thread for our first pick(assuming if we have a choice re Richmond)
Why does this club never challenge lol
Great Analysis of our last few minutes by Simmo on AFL360. Especially how they sent a spare down forward and we were able to recognise that and the senior players organised themselves to defend it.
Then Horse said the word connected about 10 times in one sentence.
Just re-watching the game. El Achkar’s pressure is really good, but also I don’t know how you can watch how he plays and not recognise there is a massive difference between a small forward and a small player in the forward line.
And which one are you saying El Achkar is?
