Really? X manages the business not the football department. And it appears that we are going very well off the park so I’m not sure that would be the greatest idea.
Only went to 1 game this season and that was rd 1 I’m too angry and deflated to give a shi*t after yesterday I’ve had enough of this team.
Nufs gonna nuf though…
Agree, but for mine he epitomises the soft undertone running through the whole place. If he can’t identify the need to overhaul the coaching department I’d be worried.
You can thank the fans largely for all the off-field recovery and success too, because without all of us consistently funding it, it fails
I’m not sure why Xavier is only measured by what he achieves off the field.
Are you telling me that the CEO of a sporting club is not accountable for our success?
I guess it had to be X’s fault sooner rather than later, seeing we’ve been through the coach, the assistants, the players, the saga, Neeld, the video analysis dude and the person who swapped Shawry for RoCo.
how can we come out so flat after a 10 day break and on anzac day of all days?
I’m not suggesting it’s X’x fault but to say he’s not accountable for what happens on field is not correct.
I’m a firm believer in the players being more responsible for their performances.
They have more control than anybody else over how much effort they put in each week.
If they were putting in 100% effort every week and we were still getting beaten then I would start looking at the coach. As it stands now they are not.
I watched this game on tv
Losing like that on Anzac Day is the worst type of marshmallow loss you could have - the complete opposite of what Anzac Day stands for.
Looks like we gave up, unable to keep up with Collingwood work rate, intensity and honest desire to win.
Slowing the game down made us unable to enter inside 50 effectively. Disposal poor to forwards.
We looked weak, slow, at times disinterested, certainly confused and as a team not able to counter opposition run or game plan
I think Collingwood is copying Richmond’s “swarm tactic”
They always had superior numbers at the contest, engaging quick handball to defeat tackles and clear to players with open space
Our tackles were laid as or after the ball had departed all day
Our Coaches need to analyse how to counter and attack against the swarm. “The swarm” is more than just work rate requiring 22 contributors at all times and no weak links
Analyse the running patterns of Richmond And Collingwood players and learn
Begs done. What a ■■■■ of a day.
Here here… We have 3 new recruits and the guy carries on like we have a completely new list!!!
FFS… EVERY club has new players every year… EVERY FARKING CLUB and yet we seemingly have to go to pieces!!!
Especially when those three players have been amongst our freakin best every single farkin week!!!
Woosha is a spin artist con man… anyone want a monorail while we are at it?! Stats show we have the least new faces just about across the league… we never blood new players and his game plan stinks. Get rid of the cancer and give us a fighting shot next year. Oh and sack whomever made the stupid decision to extend his contract early… what an awful decision and yep, I said that too! Even blind freddy knows to wait for real results before locking in a coach. Oh and also stop with the fluff PR and eSports teams… learn how to win football matches, you know the sport we are meant to play, and then worry about the fluffy stuff.
should be the coaches and ‘leaders’ job
That’s fair enough.
It would be nice to hear something from Lindsay farking Tanner though.
we’ll play melbourne into form
We have said it over and over.
We have players that are mentally soft.
The players mental capacity to challenge
themselves for success is sh*t.
We draft players who have no mental resolve.
We don’t draft players who have had challenging experiences in their life; but when we do, the first sign of challenging behaviours and they are delisted at the click of a finger, or traded out the door asap.
We don’t draft players with fire in the belly for the contest.
We have a list of players that cannot take criticism.
We have a club that is happy to accept the minimum requirement… which means, we only win when we’re under pressure.
Uhmmmmm the buck stops with him. I’m not for getting rid of him yet but to suggest he is not responsible is rubbish. It’s his responsibility, that why he gets the big bucks.
If we miss the 8 and finish bottom 6 questions will be asked why we re-signed Woosh that’s worse than having a coach coming out of contract imo.
Maybe we should just spill the board and fill it with Blitzers.
hopefully.
can’t be any worse than the majority of the team
My thoughts:
Lower our expectations to bottom 4
Play the kids
Rebuild next year. Including assistant coaches.
Dont travel to Sydney this year for a game. No chance of winning.
Change user name to Disappointed NSW Fan.
Lid on firmly.
