I’m a Zaka supporter but he was trash today.

we were screwed by the umps

but prefer to focus on the positives.

  • when mcgrath and shiel breakaway from centre clearance looks good.

  • Parish last qtr

  • Langford solid today, even competed well in ruck

  • Redman was good

  • saad was good

  • Hooker embarrassed the Lizard, can’t believe some ppl thought he would go bezerk and kick a few
    -Towners big hit on Kennedy was handy

  • McKernan popped up for some nice goals.

still lots to work on but got the 4 points despite a big disadvantage in the free kick count.

I thought he was outstanding defensively… but was a real liability with his discipline… they might drop him just on that alone.

Townsend needs to lift next game. Big round 1 and Meh round 2. Loves to sook to the umps and point the finger but when he got the ball he sells it to the man in danger.

Superb last qtr by Darcy. Struggled for the rest of the game but he rose when it was needed.

For those who keep criticising Dodoro, don’t forget he got Saad on the cheap and he is turning out to be All Australian form.

I was ridiculously relieved about how well he played.
Slow, sure, but read the play well.

Couldn’t believe when commentator said Ridley is only 21, he’s really solid. Parish was superb last quarter. Heppell had some nice moments but hasn’t played since finals last year so would be rusty. Merrett same as Parish. Saad is our best player, he’s a superstar.

He gives 110%. It’s his defensive actions that are just as important as the offensive stuff - he constantly tries to impact the game.

Great to get a win especially with the free kick disparity.

It doesn’t look as though we are going to be any better going forward in a methodical manner.

The forwards actually seemed quite efficient when the ball got in there quick, it’s just that when we have to move the ball slowly we have no system or no skill.

There were a couple of almost “oh no” moments - hopefully he maintains form through the whole year.

The channel 7 commentary was awful, BT was blindly barracking for the Swans.

Just out of interest, what position was Townsend playing? Was he ever at full forward?
