We still going with the mentality that Xavier wanted to play in Qld instead of Vic?

You still grasping on to the fantasy that being the ONLY vic club to hub in Qld, unsettling our players & then giving up our home ground advantage followed by sacrificing a prime time Friday night slot (at a minimum is we get to come back to Vic) in any way shape or form does anything but benefit the AFL & their agenda while damaging the club & its interests?

Dear god. The AFL are not out to get us.

They are out to preserve & promote their best interests which in this case are contrary to the interests of the EFC. Our aim is to win, we have the best chance of doing that forcing GWS to come to the Dome where they rarely play & rarely win. We also should be looking out for the players interests who would rightfully see that they are the only Vic side forced away from home & family.

The AFLs only concern at the moment is keeping the competition going.

Please explain to me exactly how EFC going to Qld is the only way that could have been facilitated? There is no reason why GWS couldn’t have come to Melb. Instead they will benefit from teams being forced to fly up to QLD to play them when they could just as easily have remained hubbed in Melb.

It’s acknowledging that the club isn’t mentally strong enough to deal with it. Hardly an excuse. We’re a long way off. That’s one of our problems.

last year they weren’t allowed to leave their designated hotel that the whole club had to stay at, sometimes with other teams.
they were only allowed out to train.

big difference this time around, as people have shown by their social media accounts of the players enjoying the beach.

it’s not hub life that’s the issue, it was the expectation of pressure. pressure to perform to prove you deserve to be in the top 8. and they did exactly what they normally do, fold under said pressure.

Sorry mate, disagree. Whilst the hub conditions were vastly different from last year and they have more freedom this time around, I still believe that mentally this team just can’t hack being away from home. I just don’t think it’s a coincidence that our two most lacklustre and listless performances have come in the last two weeks where we looked identical to last year. The proof is right there for me

At the time the AFL believed they would be able to get the Sydney clubs families straight into QLD which was not the case in VIC.

The players have had more freedom where they are at Noosa than coming back to Lockdown in Melb in the middle of our miserable Winter.

We’ve had a bad hand dealt with all our Away games earlier in the year.
It hasn’t worked out for us.

If anyone thinks it would have been a major advantage playing in an empty stadium at Marvel, I say to you, watch the 2nd half again.
Then imagine if Toby Greene was running around in their forward 50 !

We weren’t anywhere near good enough, and if you think Marvel Stadium would have saved us, you’re kidding yourself.

I do not disagree, but where does Bryan play? I like the way he plays but he seems like a not-as-strong Draper type. I’d still prefer 2MP as a forward option too, regardless of tonight’s results for him.

Can Bryan play outside of the ruck?

we looked similar in the port loss as well as brissy this year, altho technically they were interstate also.

I think teams since the bye and esp since hawthorn did it well, have learnt the blueprint to beating us.
