Review v gws @ metricon round 19

I love seeing Old mate Nick Giannopoulos giving his take every game. Even when we lose still gives me a laugh. Love Nick

Our % is going to take a hammering

Our % isn’t relevant.

The Giants midfield aka the Ferrari really fired tonight.

Luckily they missed Greene and Cogs. Woulda been ugly otherwise.

We are still a chance.

But we gotta get back to Marvel.

I said at half time why not put a tag on one of their mids

Sub Guelfi on and tell him to don’t worry about possessions you just sit on him and make life hard for him

Unless you see us winning either Sydney or WB, we are gone.

We ■■■■ the bed, got out worked, out played, out coached by a side who wanted it more.

There are excuses, none of them really matter, it’s entirely up to Rutten to turn the next 4 weeks into a good story to motivate preseason. It’s to easy and to Essendon to put the cue in the rack and look for the finish line. He has to find a way for our player to fight to the end, knowing when we are successful, then end of the regular season is just the beginning.

Rutten needs to find a way, whatever it is, he needs to lead them out of checking out early. We have twos big games where we can take scalps and test our selves including against top of the ladder. Learn to belt a bottom side in GCS, less than ten goals is a failure. And sending Collingwood packing with a demolition.

no need to over analyse it.

merret, parish, stringer, hind had basically no impact on the game whereas for most of the season they’ve been in large part the main reason we’ve been winning.

tippa and hooker have been shadows of themselves for weeks now.

cutler and hamster don’t really impact for 4 qtrs at afl level.

Zaka didn’t really give us much.

2MP a non factor.

GWS are fitter, worked harder when it mattered and played with a harder edge.

the uncontested possession count their way was really telling…

hopefully people recognise now that while we have some good pieces, we are an incredibly long way off a genuine finals run.

Adrian Dodoro and co are without question the most important people at essendon for at least the next 2-3 years.

It’s unlikely but Sydney are gettable if we somehow find our best football in a week. We are so far from that.

Parish and Merrett need to get back to their absolute best.

The dogs will towel us up.

So once again because you were incapable of understanding it the 1st few times - the AFL put the interests of Sydney clubs above the interests of EFC & its EFC players, families & members who have been penalised. Which part of X being employed for the single solitary reason of representing the EFC interests don’t you understand? How is allowing the EFC to be disadvantaged anything but the opposite of what X is there to achieve? It doesn’t matter what the AFL believed, the fact is that North were always going to leave QLD so there was zero need for that game to be played in Qld. It was only done to get EFC cornered where we had no choice but to remain there for GWS’s benefit & also to allow the AFL to stagger the fixture & have back to back to back games. Again this is not in any way in the EFC’s interests & not only has it cost us home ground advantage this week we miss out on a Friday night game on TV next. We only had 2 of these primetime home games this year.

Funny thing is we are probably a chance roll Sydney

Nino that makes no sense. If you meant players or club I’m with you

No, we are not.

I know but it has happened before pull a win out of our ■■■■ after a poor loss

Least we had the excuse in those games that Port and Brisbane are to say the least a class above us. Since those games we have been known for our high pressure and tackling game (we were 1st in the comp for this for a while if my memory serves me correctly)
The last two weeks we have looked nowhere near that side. Gone back to that bruise free sht that we served up last year where we have no endeavour to defend whatsoever.

Dirty day. Not only did we not have any of our mids featuring in the top players but we’ve got 8 of bottom 10 players on ground as well.

Nup, we will capitulate from here. Don’t be surprised if we don’t win another game.
Players turned up their toes today, not a great sign

Sydney will beat us by 6 goals on tonight’s form

Most in here have been declaring all season we are a bottom 4 side, then complaining when we play like a bottom 4 side. I am shocked we have done as well as we have, I am not shocked that we are collapsing as the season draws to a close.

We have found a good group of young players with which to build a strong side. We have a lot of players to replace so that we have a solid all over the ground side. We desperately need to fix our midfield, seriously bad at defending. If you watch the top sides, their midfield spread and run both ways is outstanding, ours is mediocre and it gets found out easily. Our back line does well considering they face constant easy i50 movement.
