Review vs Geelong 2023

Skills.

Till we can execute more often, at any time, under pressure and not under pressure we won’t win consistantly enough.

We played very poorly coming off of a 4 day break against the best team in the competition and still kept it under 5 goals against the hottest team in the league.

It seriously wasnt that bad in the end all things considered.
Parish is a gun, Hobbs is going to be a gun.

Im content.

We also need to ban passing the ball to players who are not moving.

Negative: basic skills and terrible decision making.

Positives: we would have lost that by 10+ goals in the past.

Also Weed kicking 5. Nice work.

They jump us by 40 points.

Hand them 3 goals on a platter with unforgivable turnovers in our own 50.

Missed 4 very gettable set shots.

Lose by 4 goals

We handed them the winning margin in D50 turnovers leading to goals - would have been significantly closer otherwise

Just didn’t have anyone to really compete with Hawkins at the top, Lav is a huge huge out for us and we’re gonna struggle

e: Weed definitely showing things !

We let hawkins kick 8 hes never kicked that essendon finding new ways to disapont

Apparently we’re young, but Geelongs kids would give ours a run for their money.

Man from where we were at 3 quarter time on Anzac Day to this.

We kicked 16 goals; Weid with 5

Looked like it was going to be like last year but still fought to the end.

good to see there are so many with a positive outlook on here

Walla’s definitely still got it. If he manages to stay on his upward trajectory fitness wise we’ve got some EXCITEMENT to come.

Came expecting a proper thrashing.

The usual poor start, but we were surprisingly efficient I50.

Cut them a bit of slack for the short break, but need to be better with basic skills, even when fatigued.

Well done in the end Bombers, short turn around, we were exhausted after Anzac Day. Better result than I expected all things considered.

Improvement on 2022

started poor.

but turnovers in defensive 50 to opposition hurt quite a lot.

umps stiffed us early but we’re probably fairer in the second half.
