Round 1 Dons V Suns 26th March 3:30pm(Qld time) - Metricon Stadium

HS article says they are expecting 16k.
Even a spot on the news last night with Crowley saying he's looking forward to matching up with Ablett.

Hopefully it is a decent sized crowd full on Dons supporters.

Yeah the article also made reference to Essedon being the best supported side on the Gold Coast outside of the Suns.

For all us losers stuck back watching the game in Melbourne - are any other Blitzers planning on heading to a pub in the SE suburbs? Eg the Elsternwick? I watched the WCE vs Ess NAB Cup thing at Hotel Brighton a couple of weeks ago and it sucked. Not so much the hotel itself, just the experience of sitting there nursing a pot watching the footy alone. Humberta’s working, I don’t have Foxtel … HEEEELP!!!

Do you guys reckon any of the 34/12 will go up and watch round 1.
I remember from Crowleys interview he said that missing the Round 1 game was the hardest, then it got easier as the season wore on.

Surely you’re going to the VFL first anyway, that’s what a real loser would do… Head north, young man, head north…

Ahhh … good point, though surely instead of “Head north” you mean “Go weeeeest”.

You do the not-at-all-flamboyant thing first, then head north.

Will be driving to the game, what is car parking like and how much will the bandits slug me?

No such thing as public parking at the ground.
Shuttle buses.

We are parking over the road at the golf club.
Costs $20.
But if like us, you have dinner at the golf club after the game, you get your $20 back.

Cheers for that.
Will give them a call tomorrow

It’s $20 per person. With a $20 voucher each to take off dinner. Just booked. Have to see if the others want to pay as well.

Scorpio do you live on the Gold Coast? I used to live at Mermaid Waters. Now in NSW and the other end, closer to Victoria.

I live in Mermaid Waters, just near Pacific Fair.

Does anyone know how well the tickets for the match are selling? Would you be ok just walking up and buying tickets?

It’s the Suns home ground, playing a Melb team. You’ll be right.

Friend told me he heard on the radio that there were about 5000 tickets still available.
Going to be a hot day for playing about 32c with humidity.

As context I believe capacity of the ground is 25,000.

If you’re a telstra customer, you can get the afl live app for free http://www.theroar.com.au/2016/03/01/live-stream-afl-and-nrl-for-free-if-youre-a-telstra-customer/

otherwise, I’ll come to the Wicker to watch the game.

Great - see ya at the Elsternwick!
Main sports bar out the back, not the fancy bistro bar

anyone elses carefactor for football in general still at 0 ?

anyone elses carefactor for football in general still at 0 ?

Football in general, I’d say negative. I despise almost everything about it.

The Bombers… well I just can’t help myself but maintain a solid, if not unhealthy, interest.

Mine’s pretty low. I’ll be out and won’t be able to watch the game live. I’ll probably watch it later but than likely I’ll check the score beforehand, so I might give it a miss if it’s a disaster.

And me. Not interested in the work footy tips. Couldn’t care less about SuperCoach and won’t even bother watching any games that don’t involve the red and black.
