Round 1 - Ess v Hawks - Sunday 19th March 2023 - 3.20pm @ the G - the buildup

Interesting if so.

Do you know what "literally’ and “immune” mean?

If you slow down and zoom in on vision you can see that nothing actually makes contact with his skin. However there is a strong repelling force generated like two similarly charged magnets coming into close proximity which replicates all the energy transference actual contact would generate, but with a different attack and decay profile.

enlighten me pops

With that attitude, first look up a dictionary. If you don’t understand it then, ask in the DQA thread.

heres what i got

so i would say, i was putting emphasis on the use of literally, as the definition says. for immune, ill take the “protected or exempt” meaning, which is somewhat sarcasm. But a man with your intelligence would know all this Albery. Good day.

Sicilian will take 14 marks

CJ will run rampant

Moore will kick four

Parish will play hurt and be ineffective.

We will get done.

Guelfi only started full on running a week or so ago. And had done sfa for 6 weeks. So bugger all match sim and one VFL practice match

If he gets selected then it’s an indictment on those that don’t

He hurt it around Feb 3rd, after having done the full pre-season up until then. Back running last week, full training this week, playing in the VFL praccy game this Sat.

By my count, that’s a pretty standard 3-4 week calf injury, followed by a couple of weeks of full training, and a hit out to dust off the cobwebs before round one.

My guess is they want 3 smalls - Davey & Menzie are locks, Walla isn’t fit enough yet, so it’s a choice of Guelfi or Snelling for that last spot.

Geez Snelling is stiff. Not even an emergency.

Top 3 bnf 2021 and then yeah injuries ruined his 2022 season.

I’d have him playing round 1.

Yeah, splitting hairs with Guelfi IMO, who was top 3 in the B&F last year lol

Agree that Snelling should definitely be in the mix though, at the very least as emergency. I actually thought he looked to be moving pretty well in the pre-season games, although he was coming on late once everyone else was starting to run out of gas, so always hard to judge.

If you swap Jones for VOSS I would be happy.

Hopefully Voss kicks a bag this weekend and gives himself the best chance for a debut.

I know I’m going to be bitterly disappointed by this season, but I still can’t wait for it to begin.

If Langford, VOSS and Guelfi all play well in the VFL it will make it interesting.
Will Snelling play VFL as well?

Yeah Snelling will play VFL. Any guys that didn’t play full games last week will play VFL.

So that will include Snelling and Phillips.

Not sure the AFL listed guys that played VFL last week will play VFL this week.

Wasn’t in full training last week. Was still just doing run throughs, twisting turning etc. still modified

we are kind of a bit screwed if we get a injury to Ridley/Zerk-Thatcher early on … I know Baldwin has started training there but raw.
Reid / Cox on comeback from injury.
There is McBride but we seem averse of trying him. He doesnt get much of it at VFL, but going back years now thought he held his own in the 1 AFL practice match he played and competed well.

Yep - back running last week, full training this week & next, with a hit out on Sat.

Two weeks of full training, plus some match sim, is a pretty reasonable run up from a typical 3-4 week calf injury recovery IMO.

All depends on how he goes in the VFL this weekend - if he runs out the full game without any issues, and plays well enough, I’d have no problems with him being in the mix for round one.
