It’s a long season ahead…” McPherson said.

Sure will be.

LoL, who the heck is that?

First @alex.f.94 accuses me of being @smj ??? Whoever that is or was, now this one.
Paranoia reigns supreme around these parts.

Based on the new injury report, it looks like Stringer is likely to miss around 1.

I would imagine they’re treating him with absolute kid gloves.

(Isn’t J Davey an even chance to return as well?)

The other thing Zach did during the week which impressed me is that he didn’t try and deny Matthew Lloyd’s criticism of the club, and by extension the players. He acknowledged it, said he had a good relationship with Lloydy and said it was his right as a great of the club to make that comment, or words to that effect. At least there’s no PR spin with him…

Both speculation. I think it was obvious for some time that Hepp would not captain the club this seasons, they were just being respectful in the transition.

Also, at this stage nothing suggests Walla will play round one. I’d be very surprised if he’s selected.

For me it will be the sick feeling I get in my stomach as I walk through treasury gardens on Sunday afternoon…

It’s going to be a very physical game. Hawks have been training that way all off season. And knowing Mitchell, he’s not going to let Merrett have an easy first hit-out as captain. We absolutely have them covered on talent, but guys like Newcombe will push our midfielders around.

CJ will have around 15 intercept marks and 30 touches if we dont plan something for him. he almost needs a defensive forward put on him, because he’s a terrific player

I thought he was further than 4-6 weeks away for some reason. Same with Reid. I’d be wrapped to see them before the bye.

I think we will finish bottom 4 this year. I also think we will beat Hawthorn.

I will be shocked if they beat us. SHOCKED.

Gotta love the spin as per usual Essendon.
Obviously tsatas injury was more than just an mensuis tear cause if he is still 3-4 months away you don’t take 6 months to get over that. It is only a 6-10 week injury at worse ( I have had it 4 times) and it never took 6 months to get over and he would have access to alot better doctors and fitness industry than me

He’d be the one from the likely forward group that could play a negating role. I’d love to see things like this from Scott, actually identify a key player from the opposition and look to nullify them. You know, what coaches used to do rather than simply be system v system, which is a cop out IMO and basically says we play the same way regardless of the game situation.

No doubt if Finn Maginness plays, he’ll sit on Merrett for the whole game. He’s very good at stopping players.

Shiel tore a meniscus and missed 17 weeks.
Would put Tsatas back to mid May

Was yours a clean up/trim or stitched, because Tsatas had his stitched up like Shiel in 2020. Different to a normal tear
