Big win will give us a big mental boost going up against Sydney and a win their will be huge coming up against Carlton.
Our senior players whom have had limited preseasons will be Gaining better match fitness coming into round 3 and 2 wins will give them a lot of adrenaline and confidence
Not true. There were only three >50K crowds at the stadium in total in the last decade. Two of those games involved us (v Geelong 2012 and 2013). The 2013 game was actually the last game there that got a 50K crowd.
I think >46K is basically a full house at that stadium, considering all the medallion club seats that are rarely used.
Agree though with the general proposition that Essendon supporters suck.
All I remember of that game is that we kicked the first goal. After that I focussed on ex-wives and ex Mother-in-Laws; that made the game seem so much better.
It was the first time my Freo supporting Father in law and I had attended a game together. We were lined up for beers, having got there just on the siren. I heard the roar for that first goal and I got so excited. I let him know the beers were gonna be on me and that I was happy to see that we’d turned up to play. I didn’t buy another beer, but we drank enough of them, cursing their mid strength BS nature. I recon I’m gonna be dragged to a fair few Freo games after that garbage and my Father in law is not about to stop mentioning it.
There’s tens of thousands who’ll turn up to the MCG to watch us play bottom place Carlton, in a game where you just know we’ll get dragged down into a slog, but not the dome against a ladder leader.
What does this even mean. I see variations of this posted all the time, but I really can’t grasp what people are implying.
You think if crowds go down the board and CEO are going to have a meeting and go “well darn it, they have finally clued on to us, we better start trying now”.
People go to the footy for enjoyment not to accept or reject mediocrity.
Exactly. I go to the footy because I love watching the EFC and I also love footy. It doesn’t matter how we are going. Just quietly, how good is a few beers at the footy with your mates?
I flew over for a game in 2016 when we had Matthew fkg stokes playing ffs. I just love the footy. Not turning up, does absolutely nothing
I would not be surprised if some of the bananas that go to the AGMs every year think this is the case. more and more every year those events turn into a group therapy session for old men to scream and carry on like children. must be very cathartic for them…
