Round 22 vs Richmond - Changes & Preview

Sounds like there won’t be much planing into stopping Richmond from what Worsfold was saying today they will just back them selfs in and see what happens.

Not sure about that because you just know Richmond will putting things in place to stop our and run and limit the influences of guys like McKenna,Merret, etc.

I really do hope we come in with a plan because that’s what the good coaches do.

But we are babe.

‘Whatever It Takes’

Well what ever plan they are hatching if better be good because we cant just rock expecting our run and gun to beat them.

Well, if you don’t think that will work, do you think that they would think that would work?

Richmond will try and force us to use the ball by hand, in close quarters and under pressure. That’s the key to turning it over and getting it into their 50m. On our side, we need to spread quick enough and far enough to counter that plan, while still doing what hurts Richmond most - speed can kill them.

My hope is that the Tigers coaching staff will be planing to stop our run but insetad we play a diffrent way which throws their planing out the window.

More kicks,less handballs

Got sucked in into overusing the handball at Dreamtime lets we hope we learnt our lessson this time around

But let’s be honest… We have ever only shown one distinct gameplan/style…

wishful thinking there. We haven’t planned for an opposition all year… hardly think he will start now.

Right now we just have to hope our Plan A is better than Richmonds pressure and that we dictate terms and take our chances.

if we can bring our top level manic pressure then we could match them. I still believe…

Higgins to have a field day and kick 9

Reckon the way the Cats played against them is a good template our run and spread and scoring is much better than Geelongs

19 matches against some very good sides they have beat.

Sure it means they are one closer to dropping one. Could be Friday night, not sure if we can turn ourselves into MCG specialists in a week.

Can’t think of a better challenge though.

so when was the last time we didn’t beat richmnd carlton hawthorn collingwood in the same year :frowning:

It is going to hurt like hell if we lose but you are spot on… this is the perfect challenge. Very simple scenario. Win, on the MCG, against the best in the business with the pressure on you. Not rocket science to work out that there will be a huge crowd and, again simple to guess, a ‘finals like’ atmosphere and probably pressure.

They smashed us in pre-season… they obliterated us for dream time. We gave them excuses for pre-season, we forgave dream time considering the horror start to the season… but it is now or never really.

Going to learn a lot about the list, our game style, our coaches and our development this Friday. Might not be all positive but it will all be a big lesson.

Richmond are great at applying close-down pressure.
Pressure means a drop in accuracy, which adds more pressure.

It’s like the old fighting saying - you start off a black belt, and drop a belt after every hit to the head.

Pre 2000?

It amazes how good they are at this you think after playing that way for so long it will take a toll but nope
