Round 23 changes. Fark Carlton

Wouldn't be surprised to see Winderlich given a rest. Looked to have no zip in his legs after his big game last week.

Hurley's legs looked like they turned to jelly late in the last quarter. 3 times I saw him make movements towards the bench only to be told "Sorry mate, no rotation for you". He'll probably still need to play though because there is no one to replace him.

Paddy Ambrose look slow and heavy legged as he lumbered around from contest to contest. A long, first season in the AFL looked like it caught up with him today. He might need a week to freshen up too.

I'm going with:

In: Heppell, Bellchambers

Out: Winderlich, Ambrose

Out:Winderlich, Howlett, Ambrose

Ins: Gleeson, Heppell, Bellchambers

In: Hardingham

To audition for either Steinberg or Ambrose’s spot.

Out: Whoever needs a rest

Bringing in Hardingham is very tempting. Can play a variety of roles. If Licha is to be rested, play him in the fwd I reckon.

Hopefully he can re-capture that form he had early in the season when he was kicking goals.

Baguley Hurley Hardingham

Hibberd Steinberg Dempsey

Colyer Watson Stanton

Fantasia Carlisle Ashby

Chapman Daniher Zerrett

Bellchambers Hocking Zaharakis

Myers, Melksham, Howlett

Gleeson

Out: Hooker, Winderlich, Ryder, Goddard, Ambrose

In: Ashby, Hardingham, Bellchambers, Gleeson, Melksham

That side should be capable of dealing with #farkcarlton whilst giving a few guys a rest who have looked pretty ragged or had an injury concern/scare

Ryder maybe doesnt need the rest but i’d be keen to play tommy incase we need him come finals

I hope they give heps the extra week off to let him recover fully for finals

I am not generally an advocate of resting players and flirting with form but our form hasnt been all the amazing anyway so may as well try it!

I’ll have a whole different opinion by the end of the week most likely when we know a bit more about who’s sore etc

FARK carlton!!!

I don't care who plays as long as we kick their scummy ■■■■■ into November.

FARK carlton!!!!

Yeah, I don't mind this at all.

Well Ambrose had a shocker. TBC can't come in as he has lost all confidence. We have to try someone else as the 3rd tall up forward.
People have suggested Ashby. Why don't we try him next week. Otherwise give Hardingham another crack, when we were playing our best footy earlier in the year he was kicking 2 or 3 goals.

and when we started to struggle and continued he kicked 0 to 1 goals a game with 7 odd possies. Hardy is not the answer.

Ambrose is hardly the first player to have had a shocker this year so I doubt he'll be dropped for a one off so far.

I think Ambrose could use the break, given it's his first senior year.

IMO anyone who is a back up for anyone else should probably play.

The above posts are pretty accurate.

I'd be happy to play the same side and make sure we hit some form but there are clearly some blokes who are playing injured or very sore. A week off will do those guys a world of good.

Out: Ambrose, Goddard, Hurley, Winderlich, Chapman (all rested)

In: Hardingham, Bellchambers, Melksham, J Merrett, Gleeson.

Give Heppell another week off.

Beat Fark Carlton with a leg in the air. Smash those whinging Roos the week after.

FARK carlton!!!!

I'm normally one who would be on board with all of this.

The only question mark for myself is, so far this season when guys have had a rest or coming back from injury the week after they've done so they've been so far off the pace of the game it's not funny.

So do you rest them and run the risk that in a final they won't be in full flight, or make them play against Carlton and if any of them break, so be it.

tough call either way as it'll only be hindsight that will make either path the right or wrong one.

Do think Ambrose has hit a end of year wall but I wouldn't be making mass changes. Licka sub, Ambrose for say Ashby or Gleeson as an extra runner/defensive fwd. Give Joe an extra 10/15% in the ruck.

Can rotate things without throwing the balance & continuity out. i.e. Chappy FF etc. Just be creative, we have Hepp back incase we fall over . .

Don’t make too many changes.

Out: hooker

In: Merret (if he is fit)

Sure players are sore but you don’t want to upset team balance or tinker with form. Smash these blue carnts

Minimal changes only. Hooker looks like he will need the week off. That brings a tall defender in to calculations. With positional changes that could see TBC back in. If he can find a semblance of last year's form, he would be very handy in September.

Winderlich, Hocking and Watson all looked proppy today. Watson will be better for the run but we want Licha and Buddha fit for the finals.

The above posts are pretty accurate.

Give Heppell another week off?

Wouldn't do his Brownlow chances much good sitting in the stand.

Stanton deserves a break, has played every game this year. Despite people hanging ■■■■■ on him for most of the season, he's been a warrior - I hope he gets his well earned rest.

If St Kilda can somehow beat Ninthmond, I would be in for a massive player resting, as a number of the guys looked cooked.

I would also leave Heppell out for another week.

Chappy, Goddard, Licka, Stants, Hurley, Hooker all look like they need some freshening up.

If RIchmond win this week, and they probably will, we pretty much have to go all guns against fark Carlton as the Swans may also rest up before the finals and let Richmond win.

Similarly if Hawthorn beat Collingwood next Frioday night - finals spot is certain can then rest whoever is needed

Beats me why players need a rest, unless they are injured. Don’t know about you guys, but when I played footy, there was no way I would miss a game for a “rest”.

The players are professional sportspeople with a mass of support staff who can give them the best week to overcome any fatigue. Why change a winning team, except to bring back Hepps.

Ambrose has played well enough to keep his spot, and rest no-one !

In Heppell, out Ambrose.
