Last week it was Goddard who was 'cooked' & look at the shocker he had this week.
This week it's Winder's turn to be 'cooked', the new favourite term on this forum.
The only time I can remember when our team was really 'cooked' was in the latter half of 2012, when we had bulked up too much in the off season via the weapon & we did really run out of legs - that is 'cooked', otherwise it's really a player carrying an injury/flu/corky into a match, & is not 100% to begin with (or sometimes it's just that he had a shocker - people might be amazed to learn that even players like James Hird & Tim Watson used to have the occasional shocker also).

Drop Steinberg please. Prefer someone else in the side leading to finals. Sharpen up for next year kid. Don’t like his team mate unawareness and reverse fletcher fists. Makes me concerned every time he’s near the ball , an opposition , a pack of players and a team mate.
Should not even be thinking of resting players. 2 games left most likely , give it everything. Rest *once we put Carlton away.
Not sure about the idea of resting players next week. Maybe one of either Chappy or Licha but leave it at that. Carlton may be shot but they hate us as much as we hate them so they'll be throwing everything at us, and that probably won't be good enough anyway but why risk it. I'd want to be locking down that seventh spot and going into a very winnable final against Norf.
Hey guys guys guys lets make 8 changes, pick guys who haven’t had a run for 12 weeks, change the structure entirely, then hope we can pick it back up the week after!! After all, every other final we’ve played having a disrupted side has worked really badly for us, and we fell to ■■■■ when Hooker missed a half, so we should try and do that sort of stuff by choice.
FFS.
Out: Winderlich Fantasia
In: Heppell, one of Jerrett/Gleeson/Ashby (as sub)
The end.
Hardie? TBC? Pears? Melks? Dropping Ambrose after one ■■■■ game? Are you all completely nuts?
Wouldn't be surprised the coaches decide to look at a structure against the Blues like this:
- Bellchambers in for Ambrose.
- Hurley CHF in place of Ambrose
- Bellchambers deep forward with Daniher
- Carlisle CHB.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see Hurley rested - said on radio after the game he had spasms in both hamstrings in Q4 as he was fatigued and hadn't been off at all in the first 3 quarters - would mean Ambrose stays in.
Winderlich is due for a rest and Hardingham would be the logical replacement.
Heppell in for Fantasia unless there is someone else in need of a freshen up.
All the above assumes that Hooker comes up.
Do you really think there's a chance that we will make such big changes to our structure one week from the finals? Carlisle will definitely start forward, as will Hurley definitely start back.
I think we need to find out whether Raz can play full back, and how Watson goes in the ruck.
Heppell for orazio, thats it. Dress rehearsal before north, very minimal changes.
Would think about Winders - was well below his best yesterday. The one bloke who actually has form for needing rests too. If we give him the week off, we can get some touch into a Jerrett/Ashby/Gleeson/Melks, those 4 will probably be our depth for finals.

Yeah, perhaps a freshen up for licha but id doubt he'd want to - he probably only has 2-4 games left in his career, I think he'll find a way through. Doesnt look like he needs a rest too bad for mine, I just think he had one of them days.

Most unlike Licha match, he failed to have an impact. Indicates to me he was not quite right. Give him a rest so he will be cherry ripe for finals, and l do mean plural.
Fantasia did enough to get another run I think.
Ambrose to be dropped before him.
To pick who, though? They're hardly competing against each other.
For Fanta, with a bit of juggling, we could play (unless there's an injury I've missed), any of Jerrett/ Melks/Ashby/arguably Edwards/Dell. all with some VFL form behind them, half of them have played AFL recently.
Instead of Ambrose, we could play... umm... Pears, Hardie or TBell. Played 2 games between them since halfway point of the year, and all with (going off VFL reports) non-existant or crap form.
Chalk and cheese, IMHO.
And that's not even factoring in that Ambrose was pretty good last week, very very very much doubt he'd be anywhere near the chop.
Let me preface this by saying I was out all day yesterday, so I haven’t seen the game.
Only the highlights and full replay of the last qtr.
I’m astounded that people want to drop Ambrose from the side, or suggesting that we can’t take him into a final.
Almost every game I have seen this year, either live or on TV, he has been some sort of a factor with his workrate and defensive work. Also, when he gets his chance to hit the scoreboard, he is very reliable/efficient.
I don’t doubt that he had a poor game yesterday, but c’mon, he’s playing next week(and finals) and he’ll fkn put in !
