Round 24 vs Suns 2025 - was round O

Cyclone Alfred: SE Qld residents to brace for power outages, service shutdowns

South East Queensland’s four million residents have been told to prepare to lose power for at least three days when Cyclone Alfred makes landfall

The AFL should make that call, but won’t. They are going to leave it to the QLD government.

Now, I think the QLD government would be well within their right to go “oi fkwits, we have much bigger things to deal with, make your mind up”.

Already starting to block flights and move passengers on to services next week.
Airport watch period is usually 48hrs out and warning period is 24hrs out and that’s when they usually make the decision. They have already started moving aircraft to safer airports

both these games plainly need to be rescheduled or moved out of QLD.

the afl needs to accept it and move on today so appropriate logistical arrangements can be made.

Its a easy call too.

1/ Postphone Geelong v Brisbane to their round 3 Bye week.
2/ Move Gold coast and Essendon to Melbourne and Goldcoast can have a home game in round 17.

They’d need to fly out today.

So I’m due to fly to the Gold Coast today at 4.50pm. I’m not going.
As it’s a sale flight they won’t put it into credit. What’s the chance It get’s moved or cancelled?

Thats a good suggestion if AFL Delay making a early call to move to Melbourne, Neutral ground, Suns could travel by bus if needed.
Lots of AFL fans in Canberra don’t get to see Essendon much.

Could give suns 2 options

  • Play in Canberra as home game,
or Play in VIC and switch round 17.

Think you will be ok to fly today. Who you flying with?

Virgin.

But I’m not going. I’m up there for one day so my issue is getting stuck up there.

I’m sure they’d jump at the prospect of a 12 hour bus ride
