Following on from the Zone thread I have been paying attention to Melbourne’s zoning. They don’t leave forwards on their own and they definitely get numbers back to help out quickly. They do tend to form lines and their mids quickly fill those gaps, whilst spreading across the ground - not compacting as we tend appear to do. When they take possession in the back half they have options to spread on both sides.
They certainly work very hard.
