We’re gonna win.
He's really had a gutful of Gleeson.
Was my first thought, he’s keen as mustard to drop him.
We're gonna win.
It’s going to be tough with us having lost 12 players and Sydney always having an extra 3.
RIP Gleeson.
Clearly, Worsfold doesn’t rate the (highly) the players who have been on our list 3-4 and, by rights, should be stepping up to be regular players: Gleeson (more chances than any), J.Merrett (runs hot/cold), Ashby (been injured by burns the ball by foot + Kelly at 32 is a far better player), Edwards (struggles to touch the ball some games and melted in the heat in the practice game against Geelong), Ambrose (hard to know what position to play him due to his size/slow speed combination and inability to find the ball regularly), Kommer (out injured a long time, comes back, tried & found wanting).
Ambrose aside (mature ager), the others would soon be moving into the 23-28 year age bracket which is the demographic that is the backbone of premiership sides generally. Worsfold doesn’t think they can cut it seems although they may get other chances as the year progresses. But they are not walk up starts to our best 22 with 12 of our best players missing.
If they are out of contract I think they will be looking for new clubs come years end. If they’re in contract they’ll be told opportunities for senior AFL action at Essendon in 2017 will be limited.
I think we will make more changes to our list come year’s end than we all, including me, previously thought.
Anyone else catch a glimpse of League Teams? (shit show btw). Anyway, Derm reckons Franklin will kick 11 goals this week and Brad Johnson is tipping that he’ll kick 14.
Long a bit stiff
Had a nice chat with him the other night. He’s an impressive young man, and I can’t wait to to see him in the 1sts this year. He is confident he’ll get his chance.
Long a bit stiff
Probably saw Buddy’s missus.
In Jesinta

Attention whores.

Being new Worsfold does not have any entrenched loyalties at Essendon. He can make objective decisions . This is important. The process started in earnest at the end of last year when quite a number of marginal players were de-listed. No doubt initially Worsfold will keep a good flow of players moving through the list. Its like panning for gold. But eventually, he will also develop entrenched loyalties. So repeats the cycle.
I guess this is why we brought in the older guys. So the younger guys don’t have to go to up against the bigger bodied teams
Dont get the “we lack run” calls
Tippa, orazio, zaka, cooney and zerrett all move pretty quick. Gleeson barely provides a offence option, and parish/langford are not linebreakers
Like the team
Worsfold reads blitzFACT
Every. Friggin. Week.
Whoosh gets it.

Its probably pretty accurate tbh

And yet Gleeson and Jerrett were both in the side with the 12. Maybe the tops ups are better than the 12???
Anyway I am happy with the changes. I get to see another young player that I know nothing about, hopefully he can kick goals, or pass to one of our players to kick a goal, or something like that.

He played Gleeson every game to date, being dropped for this doesn’t mean he has given up on him. The other players you’re talking about didn’t get much of a run under Hird either, Ashby aside.
So what’s your point?
Gleeson, jerrett, kommer, ambrose, edwards are garbage. Speaks huge volumes when they cant get a regular game with the suspended players out. Gleeson might make it, but itd take a huge turn around from the others to stay on the list
