I rather we didn’t get a mature ruck to replace Phillips, like others have said just give Bryne and Draper a good run at it. Worse case scenario I’d rather give a young tall a go in the ruck. I actually think Jones would be a good ruck.

We probably need another ruck on the list but given Bryan re-signed it’s gotta be a genuine third “break glass in case of emergency” type option that is fine to play in the VFL 95% of the time.
Someone like Goldy doesn’t really make sense unless in more of a mentoring capacity.
No point resigning Bryan and then having him be third in line again.

No idea who might get delisted, but I started at Adelaide and sorted by height and the first name I came across was Kieran Strachan. Ex Essendon VFL. 0 games 2023. 5 overall. 28yo next month. You’d think a delisting possibility. Someone like that?

Just went through all the lists. Can’t actually see that many candidates. It kind of makes sense how guys like Phillips manage to eek out a decade long career, there is zero depth in the position.

He’d surely go somewhere he’d be in finals contention and closer to #1 ruck. I’d have thought he’d be perfect for Melbourne if they move on Grundy, as he’s been a reasonably effective forward in the past. Geelong would also surely be interested.
