Big heart thumping win in the Six Nations at Murrayfield over the weekend. Scots soaked it up and unleashed their winger van der Merwe on England who scored a brilliant hat trick of tries to win 30-21.
Mind you I’m struggling a little with his Scottish accent.
Born and bred in SA … but there you go. He was excellent as was Finn Russell who for mine is close to being the best fly half in world rugby at the mo’.
Yeah, not sure how competitive we will be. My Brumbies looked ok in patches but they were playing a rabble that shouldn’t even be in the comp. The Force are pretty much always trash and the Tahs looked terrible too. Looks like it’s QLD or ACT again to carry the can again
An incredible finale to the 6 Nations this evening in Lyon.
Ireland had already won it after a great game overcoming a brave Scotland. What a battle that was. But the France V England test was a ripper. Classic French crazy rugby at times and England were good.
France nicked it in the end 33-31 courtesy of some really great tries from each side though … But a big Ramos pen a minute from time gave it to the French. And btw Italy beat Wales earlier.
Top internatonal rugby. One of the better 6 Nations I’ve watched recently. The pace of Test rugby when watching live is something to behold.
Rebels have officially been booted out and will finish up this season. Ironically this season is their best finish in history and they will play finals
The death knell for the sport in Victoria. Even at a local level Rugby League is killing it. I play in Seaford and the local Union team is almost dead whilst the League team is flourishing
It’s a great sport but unfortunately the rules are patchy and the refs make Aussie Rules umpires look perfect in comparison.
I’m a Brumbies foundation member and try to get to at least 2 games per season and love it. I wish I could attend more games
ACT Government invests close to $2 million a year in the Brumbies, gave a lifeline of $200k to Canberra United, whose viability is in question.
AFL and NRL prop up clubs, with NRL clubs also tapping into the money pouring in from those NSW pokies barns.
The ARU has screwed the pooch so badly that it should be up on various best-iality charges.
The game was riding high in the early 2000s; growing awareness and broadcasting, spread of popularity to Southern states, increased participation at all levels.
Then a bunch of NSW elitists stepped in to fark it like a drunk intern at a private school alumni social.
