All pubs will be heaving today and tomorrow.
I remember walking down towards Southern Cross station last time this was in Melbourne and it was nuts.
You could hear chanting and singing from the streets.
I’m ina CBD pub for a team lunch and there are a lot of ‘em .

What the Brits never realise is that the Aussies try. They play hard and to win, no matter how hopelessly outgunned everyone says they are.
The Brits think, we’re great and they’re hopeless, everyone knows that, so we just have to go out there and they’ll fold up and we’ll walk over them.
It doesn’t happen like that.

Great Test match so far .. we should be further in front bar a few late mistakes. Losing Potter a blow but McDermott has been good since coming on.
Big Will mixing it up as expected.. just pleased to see our centres getting good ball so far. Big half coming up .. we can do this !

So, a few key decisions to unpack in this Test.
But cutting to the chase, both the Lion’s first (Sheehan’s tap, go and leap over the Wallabies tackler) try to score from 5m in the first half …. was dangerous play every day of the week for mine. And then of course the late winner after a dodgy and dangerous high clearout of Carlo Tizzano when he’d arrived first at that breakdown and legit jackaling for the ball. Whichever way, angle or speed you look at either situation, those tries should’ve been penalties to Australia. On any other day and ref they probably would’ve gone our way.
Wallabies were very good all evening. But losing an in form winger (i.e. Potter) after 20’ and then Valentini at half time didn’t help.
Of course I’m biased, but we truly deserved to win this one and take it to a Sydney decider.
But hey ho .. thems the breaks.
Yet the frothing English rugby press can’t help themselves from crowing and accusing Carlo of milking it for good measure .. oh really?
And they wonder why the rest of the rugby world dislike them.
P.S. I do wish Schmidt would be staying on longer as our coach though. He’s improved us out of sight.

Notice after the injury break most of the Lions pack picked on 175cm Nic White who had nothing to do with the Skelton hit on the Lions tackler.
