Ok. Sorry about that. If I have contravened any laws, I also apologize and retract my previous statement.

I think @Benny40 has already mentioned in this thread worthwhile pro-Ukraine charities to support.
Edit: late to the party again…

Conflicting stories about the Syrian owned ship docking in Tripoli, with a Lebanon Hezbollah Minister accusing the UA Ambassador of grandstanding, as UA knew from intelligence sources of its movements, setting off from a Turkish port and collecting cargo from Feodosia, a Crimean port.
The ship, the Laodicea is reportedly owned by the Syrian Government and is subject to EU sanctions. The main cargo of grains was allegedly destined for Syria, with some flour for Lebanon ( arranged by a private trader)
Lebanon has opposed the Russian invasion and seems to be under some sort of promise from UA that it will be supplied with its grain needs.
Meanwhile, Turkey staying quiet.

I donated to this group. Someone posted their link ages back. They seem legitimate.

Potentially a repair base or a ferry point.

I wasn’t sure if I should put this here or in the EPL thread, but this was lovely from Everton.

And I hate Everton.

Meanwhile in the west Phillipines seas US is sending a carrier escort for a possible Nancy visit to Taiwan and China is warning of a military response.

What a time to be alive.

Are Russian soldiers so brutal? Or is such brutality indicative of complete loss of morale, descent into hopelessness and the knowledge that they are losing, and for their part in an immoral war, their own souls have turned to ■■■■?

the problem is societal moral decay; no ethical values. The only values that count is power and the only structure that matters is close family and those you seek protection with - mafia, gang, etc.
Soldier training is abusive and there’s no mention of any rules of war - the only use for an enemy pow is to extract information or trade; otherwise, they are worthless.

I see this (although maybe less brutal) in China. Maybe it’s an extreme example, but people stepped over and walked away from a young girl lying injured on the road side. Two responses were
“That wasn’t my child. Why should I bother?”
“If she is dead, I may pay only about 20,000 yuan (approximately $3,000). But if she is injured, it may cost me hundreds of thousands of yuan.”
There is this culture of non interference in other people’s business especially domestic violence. For a so-called socialist country, I don’t see much societal responsibility, rather it’s responsibility to the family.

Prison damage does not match any battle damage of HIMARS strikes. Zero prison guards injured in “strike”. Russia detonated a thermobaric weapon in the Mariupol POW wing of the prison.
