Yes, more reasons why they want they want to permanently annex the Donbas, Ukraine’s Industrial heartland.

@stir_fried_ewok Today’s Katz video provides evidence from a popular Russian “entertainment” social media site which gives a very different impression of what people are thinking of the Ukraine war.

Much more like the Blitz (and looks to me like it uses similar “discourse” forum software).

# Russians talk about war and mobilization | What people write on pikabu.ru (English subtitles)

Although I agree with the headline, the article has serious problems.

It’s the same strategy used to elect trump, and other right of centre ppl in Britain and EU, to vote for Brexit, to attack pro democracy ppl and orgs. The specific topics and hot-button issues change but the format and approach doesn’t.

Bad tactics but right approach: speed and violence
However, if the en has any decent infantry, that tank would be doomed; he needs infantry support in that environment to survive.

UN coordination of humanitarian aid and NATO coordination of military assistance have served to lessen corruption in Ukraine, which has had a higher level of corruption than Russia.
Conditional financial aid by International Financial Institutions and the EU have also lessened scope for corruption, as well as Ukraine Government action against some oligarchs. The rail sector has become efficient as part of the War effort.
The transition to EU membership will lead to advancements as Ukraine meets EU benchmarks.

That is as brutal as anything else l have seen. Cannon fodder defined graphically.

As Billy Bragg once said…
War, what is it good for?
It’s good for business.

Except the head of Wagner has no business even attempting to go there in the first place.

If true Putin clearly going full metal jacket in the spring and summer. Could be his undoing if military support to UKr and NATO’s resolve holds. Got no choice really … the true fascists of this war sitting within the Kremlin have to be defeated.

Finland will give Leopard 2s if the rest of Europe does.
Poland will give them if they can secure ordered replacements from Korea/USA faster.
Denmark is pushing for a European wide transfer of Leopards.
Germany isn’t ruling it out.

IDK how the Russian Federal system works and the number of reserved occupations exempt from conscription.
However, I imagine that, if Russia has not declared War as such, conscription and general call up powers would be limited.
In the last call up, many with the means fled Russia to Georgia and the like , until the borders were plugged.
Russia also has to have a sufficient army to man its borders from the Atlantic to the Pacific, as well as for its interventions in Syria, Belarus and the Stans.

Notifications to relatives is notoriously bad. Many don’t even know.
I suspect that after the spring, 1yr + 1/4 or so, is when the realization of the magnitude will hit the general population. When after a year of SMO some don’t show up back home; not even for a small vacation.
