Ukraine intensively uses heavy farming and industrial equipment. Much of the current Ukrainian army is made of citizens with real world careers fixing and building heavy equipment. Fixing a tank and fixing a combine harvester are transferrable skills.
The US during WW2 had a similar experience, their army was made up of practical types who had trade experience. Much of the time the crews would do major repairs on their own vehicles, rather than relying on a small group of specialists.
Spot on. Ukraine is still top-heavy with guys who know how to get ■■■■ done/fixed/mined/farmed. Their economy hasn’t been hollowed out/specialized to the extent ours and the rest of the West’s has. Add to that they are a very hands-on, make-it-for-yourself, self-reliant and practical people. This has served them well in this war.
Good point. No use complaining to France about it, the hypocrite warmonger…
NAZI’s!!! Azov…something, something…NAZI’s!!!
