I know that some of the Ru missiles are not noted for their accuracy, but this incident is not the case. Has Ru lost control of a couple of missiles that have gone rogue, or is it something more sinister, like intimidation? I reckon it is an attempt at intimidation, but l will be interested to hear what lies they spout in their official explanation, that is, if they even attempt one.

Maybe you are right - they were going for Lviv or another target in western UA and just blatantly cut corners deliberately. Maybe they are testing NATO out.

Whatever the case, @Benny40 is right, they shouldn’t get away with any provocations, NATO shouldn’t put up with anything of the sort. Lets see how (or if) they respond…

Sweden made some form of production announcement today. Germany making one. Estonia on board.

What this is building to is a long term pipeline of modern gear. That changes the strategic calculations about Russia’s long term chances of winning. The announcements are critical, with enough commitments the war could end faster. Then the commitments wouldn’t need to be followed through on.

So Ru was trying to cut a corner and not take the long way home, with apologies to Supertramp. Their missiles probably had the range to fly only over Ua, but equally probably lacked the guidance system to do so.

SMERSH - Joseph Stalin coined the name “СМЕРШ” (SMERSH) as a portmanteau of the Russian-language phrase Смерть шпиoнам (Smert’ shpiónam, “Death to spies”).

they really are suckers for the propaganda over there. That interview with the mum at the end is mad but shows how much they swallow the rubbish they are fed.

Moldova reportedly summoned the Russian Ambassador for a please explain for violating its airspace.
The report of overflying Romanian airspace came from the Ukraine army.
Whatever happened, there could be Romanian and other NATO displeasure at the Ukraine advice.
NATO have been bending over backwards to avoid any direct confrontation. Romania is well fortified on land and coast, with French, Italian and US involvement.
