Maybe the best software minds in Russia have been employed in trying to hack western infrastructure, sabotage democratic elections, and extort money from western companies through hacking, rather than work on enhancing air defence sensor processing, secure battlefield voice and data comms, and C4I software more generally.

Declaring martial law in the occupied regions. What, you mean not all the Ukrainians living there are pro Russia?
That simply gives Putin the excuse to demand any of those in favor of Ukrainian sovereignty be shot with any bullshit excuse. That is about 2 weeks after installing puppet regimes there based on the “free and fair” elections they staged.
The behaviour of the Russian leadership and their acolytes is truly mind boggling .
Recently there was a POLITICAL rally where in general prayer the congregation were lead in “prayer” by some MAGA extremist preachy type who suggested that the congregation pray for president Trump to be guided by god in his quest to rid the USA of communist people and for president Trump to be guided by the hand of god"

That sort of sums up the whole Ukraine War. Russia is desperately trying to cling to it’s former glory, whilst every other country that was coerced into the Soviet Union hated it, hates Russia, and wants nothing to do with it. The Russians just can’t accept that and simply reinforce their position as Eastern Europe’s Biggest Bag of D1cks by trying to beat everyone into submission to be their friend.
