Wait at least 20 and 55 seconds… that escalated.
Guessing you’re not old enough to remember the first televised war (1991 Gulf). Ah, innocent times…

Russia says it has taken out infrastructure at Ukrainian air bases
Russian news agencies are reporting the defence ministry says it has taken out military infrastructure at Ukrainian air bases and degraded Ukraine’s air defences.
It follows a report from the Ukrainian military that five Russian planes and a helicopter had been shot down in Luhansk, which Russia denied.
“The air defence assets of the Ukrainian armed forces have been suppressed,” Interfax news agency quoted the ministry as saying.
"The military infrastructure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ air bases has been taken out of action.
“Information in foreign media about a Russian plane allegedly being shot down is not true.”
Now that Covid is over my education is progressing from T cells to T-14 tanks.
Russian-backed separatists say they now control two towns in Luhansk
Russian news agency RIA is reporting that pro-Russian separatists in the Donbas have claimed they have control over two towns in Luhansk — Shchastia and Stanytsia Luhanska .
Stanytsia Luhanska is where a kindergarten and civilian homes were hit by shelling and sprayed with bullets last week, in what the West described as a “false flag” attack.
There has been no immediate comment on what’s happening in those two towns by Ukrainian authorities.
Inevitable
The strange thing with the Ukrainian neo-nazi groups is that they are slav supremacist nazis. Slavic nazis are a sad confused dangerous bunch of fools. Uber-Slavs who are anti-Russian and pro-Nazi is mind boggling
I can count the number of those on one hand.
Look up NazBols for some real mind-bending stupidity.
Tucker Carlson is a vile, pathetic imitation of a human being. Please never post his bullshit, even as criticism. He doesn’t deserve the attention.
Scott Morrison condemns the ‘brutal’, ‘unprovoked’ invasion of Ukraine
Prime Minister Scott Morrison is speaking now.
He has called on Russia to withdraw its troops.
About 2pm this afternoon, the Russian government declared that they had commenced a so-called “special military operation” in Ukraine.
And they said this after months of aggression and intimidation.
But I’ll call it what it is — the Russian government launched a brutal invasion, unprovoked, on Ukraine, and should be condemned for doing so — and Australia does.
Together with the international community, we are banding together in strong terms to condemn these outrageous acts in the strongest possible terms.
The footage that is emerging of missile strikes, air-raid sirens, and reports of hundreds of casualties dash yet unconfirmed — are, sadly, not surprising given the events we’ve been witnessing for some time now, and have been warning about.
Mr Morrison said what is happening in Europe was worrying for the 40,000 Australians of Ukrainian descent.
Scott Morrison urges Australians in Ukraine to leave, if it is safe to do so
It is understood there are roughly 1,400 Australians in Ukraine.
Scott Morrison says the second phase of financial sanctions will come into effect.
“We are now progressing in the second phase of those financial sanctions,” he said.
"The acting minister of financial affairs, Senator Birmingham, has completed the process of applying sanctions to an additional 25 persons.
"This includes army commanders, deputy defence ministers and Russian mercenaries who have been responsible for the unprovoked and unacceptable aggression, and four entities involved in the development and sale of military technology and weapons.
“We must ensure there is a cost for this violent and egregious behaviour.”
The Prime Minister says the new sanctions to be imposed against Russia should be considered a deterrent.
He said those who support or facilitate violence:
“Will be isolated, you will be targeted, your assets will be frozen, you will not be able to go about your life freely — you will be tracked down and you will have your livelihoods completely disrupted in the same way that they are seeking to disrupt the lives of others.”
Scott Morrison says there are more sanctions on the way
The Prime Minister says there are further sanctions in the works, which would target members of Russia’s parliament.
The sanctions will focus on around 300 parliamentarians who were part of the invasion of Ukraine, the Prime Minister said
It’s been going on at least since 2014 when there was a coup and Russia took back Crimea after Kruschev had givven it to Ukraine.
Ukraine has been at war with Russia since then. Until now, it has been presented as a struggle about where Ukraine belongs in the European spheres of influence, Russia is now taking over two Russian speaking provinces in the north east and threatening more.
NATO should “liberate” Kaliningrad, far more validity than Putin’s liberation.
Russia will eventually lose this. Putin will get shafted and Russian people will lose interest, just like Afghanistan.
Let them roll in, take their roubles and sit it out.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy calls for calm in the streets
In a message to the Ukraine public, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged people to remain calm.
Here is part of the translation of his speech.
This morning Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Donbas.
Russia carried out military operations. Explosions were heard. We introduced martial law.
Today we need you, each of you, to be calm.
If possible, stay at home. Please. We are working, the army is working, the entire security and defence sector of Ukraine is working.
Russia’s central bank is stepping in
After several Western nations announced harsh sanctions against Russia, mainly targeting banks and the financial sector, Russia’s central bank has announced interventions on the currency market.
It will be offering extra liquidity to the banking sector to secure financial stability after the sanctions essentially froze Western financing.
The Russian currency, the rouble, has crashed to an all-time low against the US dollar. The Moscow Exchange has suspended trading.
Reportedly, Russia has huge currency reserves and holds more gold than anyone else.
