Confidence has been sapped by the 5 of 7 game losses preceding, and giving up a 3 goal lead to Crows in final minutes a big part of it
Right now we just have too many players out of form, especially in fwd half. Langford is a shell of a player he was, often the difference maker earlier in year. Stringer is completely hot and cold. Wrights marking has fallen off a cliff, couldn’t even catch a cold at present even in frosty Vic weather.
We are also playing too tall in our fwd half differing from pretty much every team in comp
But it’s not just fwd also our defenders just don’t take anywhere near enough care on preventing goal scoring opportunities. Diabolical defensive half turnovers (which mids also a part of) gifting opposition chances and that kills us
I think I’m done watching games for the season, this has the stench of what happened end of last year about it where players just gave up. Only this time we don’t have the injury list to blame
Have never tried to pull everyone into line- it would be futile. But it’s interesting you feel it necessary to single someone out who encourages the notion that a club needs supporters, not jokers who incessantly dump on EFC.
Sure, last night was a very poor response to the disappointing loss to Adelaide but to abandon the club now would be weak as pisss.
I just started to watch the Last Word video from the club. Brent Stanton said the effort was pathetic, unlike the previous 19 weeks.
He’s kidding himself. The effort has been down for the last two months, which is why we’ve been losing all those games or scraping home against bottom teams.
If they think yesterday was a one off, they’re incompetent. It was the worst, but the worst of a putrid lot.
It’s not about right or wrong - last night was a pathetic effort.

I went to the game yesterday and was expecting a loss after the poor form of the team over the last month, so I managed to handle that sh!tshow and the following hours better than last week’s loss against the Crows when I was absolutely gutted.
Still, I understand the anger and frustration on this thread, and agree with most of the comments posted - Heppel, Wright and Menzie must be dropped next week (and that doesn’t mean, out:Wright; in:Goldstein).
Just hope we don’t turn on each other. I value contributions by people like @Donslaught9 and @stander2 and don’t want to see them criticised when their only fault is being positive about their club.
Well Don, their is little positivity coming out of last night but when the comments towards the club are outright despicable, surely a supporter has every right to take offence.
This! It really infuriates me to the point where we don’t represent the Anzacs on Anzac Day. It is the complete opposite of the Anzac spirit. We don’t deserve that game!
@stander2 , I hope you don’t think I was criticising you for taking offence. I think there have been comments directed at you and others in recent weeks which has been unnecessarily personal and I was trying to call it out. If despicable comments are said, then people like you should feel safe to call it out, too.
Right now, it is logical that many of us would be upset with this club that we invest so much passion in and want to express it. we just need to remember that all us lunatics are in this nightmare together and we need to support one another as well. This last comment is directed at your critics, not you.
