Really interesting thanks for that.
Though the ‘Killer Whale’ tag was annoying.

This is great.

Please don’t sell it off, keep funding the research and develop it.

They will get funding for research but selling it off will happen. Only way to fast track development.

Sad but true.

Is it sad though. Commercialisation of university research is kind of the goal of you want to get it to market?

From what was reported, their aim was to come up with a method that could work with existing production lines so they want this to be bought by the existing manufacturers. Could be drawing the wrong conclusion…

This is Australia. Our scientists make world leading innovations. Our business people either don’t invest or they sell out to overseas interests as soon as they can. Our politicians are shortsighted. Then we buy the products at a huge markup wondering what could have been.

We’ll not only sell the technology, we’ll throw in the natural reserves of lithium for a pittance too

Too late. The lithium has already been sold off to China,

They are way ahead of even the Blitz folk. They have been cornering the world market in Lithium and rare earths for decades, even though they have the worlds biggest deposits in their own country. Smart, greedy and malevolent. Just like the USA.

Oh, I forgot to mention the chinese invasion of Africa and other countries by stealth. They send traders out to even the worst places to get a foothold. I challenge you to find a shop in the PNG Highlands not run by a chinese ( spy) family.

There is a Red under every bed and behind every shop counter !

The Chinese must be developing some massive computational power . It is said that in a number of places ( hotspots presumably at this stage) they deploy cameras and facial recognition software and run a database on folk with a system of demerit points . Multiply that by 1.433Bn. Farkin Big Brother.

It’s all in the Muslim area, sorry forgot the name of the Provence…

Uighurs (Muslims) in Xinjiang province.

Cameras everywhere in Beijing

Have you seen the photos of Xinjiang, it’s on another level.

Nope, but as I am a great fan of authoritian dictatorships then I must put it on my places to visit.

Well, before getting too hot under the collar about the dastardly Chinese, just remember that our very own governments do this with speed and red light cameras proliferating everywhere. Sure they don’t use facial recognition software yet (probably not smart enough) but it is up to the car owner to prove it wasn’t them in the car that was photographed.

The Chinese plan to roll out their technology nationwide, having a system of social credit. People who do anti-social things will lose social credit. Lose enough and they will be denied certain social privileges such as access to international travel, etc.

Before you scoff, it is only a matter of time before such a system is brought in here. The difference is that our governments will commercialise it, i.e. they will issue fines. The Tories will probably even privatise it so their mates can get more easy dollars.

So it won’t be long until we see everyone going to work like this, …

… or this, . then?

I reckon that’ll be a lot of fun. Might relieve a lot of depression and lift the overall happiness quotient by quite a percentile.

I look forward to it… :smirk:
