Search for former Dons

Surely some of these aren’t hard to find…

Essendon Football Club Past Players and Officials Association are searching for over 60 potential members that played reserves for the club.

The association is seeking to trace reserve grade players who are eligible to be members of the Association, having played a minimum of 20 matches.

President of the Association Barry Capuano said the Association needed the help of the Bomber faithful.

“As part of our membership drive, we have been able to identify a number of past reserve grade players who played 20 or more games and are therefore eligible to members of our Association,” Mr Capuano said.

“We do not have any contact details for any of these players so hopefully this will enable us to track these players down.”

The following list of players played from 1968 to 1979 and 1983 to 1999 and the association would be appreciative if any readers are able to assist in tracking down these players.

I used to watch the twos back then, saw virtually every game at Windy Hill and I remember many of these names, but Winis Imbi ? New name to me.

Anyone know anything ?

He ended up playing for North Melbourne as well. He was the year below me at St Patrick's College and was a very nice guy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winis_Imbi

I know a Ross Napoli.

And isn’t Adam Kingsley the guy who went and played at Port?

Someone should ask McPhee’s dad.

They can’t find Milne? Surely that can’t be too hard.

From Papua New Guinea I think originally.

They can't find Milne? Surely that can't be too hard.

Thought I saw his name in a country league match report when I was chasing up father/sons a while back. Ovens/Murray maybe? Surely the club’d know about it if so though.

If you can’t find Dimattina, you aren’t looking…

“McPhee”

Must suck that no one even knows your first name?

Has the club even tried to contact these players or find their details?

Paupa New Guinean. I wrote to him back in the day and got a personalised response. I've got it somewhere still.

Im sure Winis Imbi was playing footy for Portland several years ago.

I want a photo !

Back in the 1960’s, all us kids had little books to get signed by our Footy heroes. I seemed to specialize in the wierd, bizarre guys who payed mostly in the seconds. When my Mum died and the house sold, my book was nearly sold at the garage sale, someone actually wanted to buy it.

No Winis Imbi though !

I was searching for a current Don on Saturday night, his name was David Zaharakis

Think Dean haydock was from The Eltham area… Just read he coached Panton Hill in 2014 - i’m sure they could track him down.

No. McPhlee.

Are they serious they can’t find Adam McPhee? A past B&F winner? Ridiculous!
