Season 2017 - Western Bulldogs

Still reckon Footscray did pretty well in turning losing Stringer into pick 16 and getting Schache for very little.

And to think, their supporters were talking about how functional the forward line would be now the “poison” Stringer is gone.

Even Cloke didn’t want any part of it!

So they have one full forward now- Schache

Unless Boyd comes forward.

Redpath

Really? He’s barely played half a season in the last 4 years.

Knee reco

Before that was coming along very well. Kicking bags at times.

Season in short

Bulldogs fans were just as disappointed as Redpath himself when he went down with a knee injury in round 18 against St.Kilda.

The 25-year-old Redpath was in the best form of his young career when he went down having posted career highs in disposals, marks and goals, while his average of two goals per game lead the Club in 2016.

A bullocking presence up forward, that number was at an impressive 2.8 goals per game over the opening five games of his season.

Fair enough, well there options as a key tall are between Shache, Boyd and Redpath.

One is raw, the other is uncertain and the third has injury troubles.

Given their luck with injuries they’d have to get some insurance in with a Crameri or another tall from the pre-season draft.

If they were a TAC cup team, no one would get close to a forward line of Boyd and Shache.

Clokey retiring.

Cloke and crameri gone, still got a young tall forward line. Not all bad

Cloke was outstanding around 2010/11. Expectations were always high but any Pies fan who judge Cloke down based on his latter career at Collingwood are being harsh. He was good.

I reckon all of the Cloke brothers were way better early in their careers and then faded at a younger age than most players do.

Yep

They were all beasts at 16-17yo. Grew and filled out and learnt to use their bodies way earlier than their peers. Once guys their age grew out they went past them.

Still think Buckley misused T Cloke. Bulked him up to play close to goal, which cost him some pace and agility and also put the spotlight on the weakest part of his game (goalkicking).

Apparently Honeychurch got another year. ■■■■ I’m glad he’s on their list and not ours.

Cant fault his hunger. But disposal is ordinary

Cloke was always a CHF. Buckley shortened his career.

Yeah but we have Langford…

There is 2 years age difference and with Longford’s size you would expect him to take longer anyway.
